David and I had known each other since college. We broke up and got back together umpteen times. Two years ago, we started living together and finally, after ten years of our relationship, we took a major step and got married, last week. Well, the truth is, we eloped in Vegas. David works at a marketing firm and he has friendly relationships with his colleagues. His office is like his second home.

Everyone, like his and my office friends, our families, and our college friends, was waiting for our wedding. Everybody was shocked when we invited them to our reception. We had a grand reception.

Tonight we are going to David's annual office party and this is going to be our first appearance as husband and wife at any event after our reception. We are excited and nervous at once.

I selected a black shimmery dress that I hoped would catch everyone's eye. When I wear my dress, I love how it fits perfectly around my curves. The dress hugged me in a way that felt like a second skin, making me feel confident and comfortable. The dress defines my curves in all the right places, and the deep V-neck draws the eye up.

David whistled when he saw me in the mirror. I looked at him and smiled. "Are you ready?"

David sighed and cupped my face. "I was ready to go but now I am planning to change my mind."

I squinted. "What do you mean?"

David held me from the back and buried his face between my shoulder and neck. "I mean, it won't hurt anybody if we get late a bit."

I closed my eyes because his warm breath over my bare skin sent shivers down my spine. When his hands reached my breasts, I instantly opened my eyes and pushed him back. "No, I don't want you to ruin my make-up and hair before going to the party."

David acted as if I had hit him hard. "Ouch, rude."

I turned around. "Also, I don't want anyone to think we came late to a party because of me so come on, we are leaving."

David whispered in my ear before heading out. "Tonight, I make sure you scream my name at the top of your lungs."

My breath stuck in my throat but I pointed at the door. "I think we should leave."

The moment we entered the party, I felt a bit of a shake in my confidence. I looked all around, the venue is elegant. The atmosphere is vibrant. Everyone is dancing, drinking, laughing, and enjoying themselves.

David held my hand and asked. "Are you alright?"

I looked at David. "You should have told me there would be a crowd of hundreds."

David leaned in. "Would you have come if I had told you?"

I shook my head. David tipped his head. "That's why I didn't do any such thing."

David held my hand and helped me navigate through the bustling crowd. He started introducing me to everyone who was coming to meet us and everyone showed warmth and genuine respect for meeting me. A few of them told me they had finally met the woman who had captured David's heart.

I blushed and looked at David. I was feeling proud to stand next to him. I took my time to adjust to the atmosphere. After a while, I started talking and got the vibe of the party.

Surrounded by David's friendly and respectful colleagues, I couldn't ignore a pair of eyes following me relentlessly. At first, I thought it was in my head only but I became sure when he smirked at my stare.

The way he was looking at me I should feel uncomfortable or get irritated but I don't feel like any of them. I felt a knot of uneasiness in my stomach when I realized his eyes were fixed on my cleavage. I almost felt his gaze touch my cleavage and my heart skipped a beat.
