During the summer, I planned to visit my grandma; she lives in a neighboring town so my boyfriend dropped me off at my grandma's and promised to pick me back up in a week. I had always possessed an uncanny ability to read people's thoughts and emotions, a gift I attributed to my deep fascination with hypnotism.

After finishing dinner, Grandma asked while picking up plates from the table. "Tell me what you want for breakfast."

I looked at her. "Grams, we just finished our dinner."

She started loading the washer. "In the morning, I intend to visit the market."

I took plates from her hands. "Let me load the washer."

Grams smiled and walked over to the chair. While sitting. You didn't tell me about the breakfast."

I looked at her. "How about you take a rest for a week and I'll take care of your chores?"

Grams shook her head. "No, I need some supplies for my garden as well."

I asked. "Do you know the name of a shop?"

Grams nodded. "All green."

After I started the washer, I untucked my phone from my back pocket and searched for the shop. I showed her a few options and she pointed at the link. "This is the shop."

I smiled and went to its location. "I'll go there tomorrow. You need to make a list of supplies and give it to me."

Grams asked me to bring her paper and pen from her drawer. I gave it to her and said good night. Before rushing into my room, I told her to keep the paper on a table. When I got into my room, my boyfriend called me and while talking to him, I dozed off.

The next morning, I woke up early and headed out for the market to pick up Gram's supplies. When I was roaming around, I heard around thirty people cheering together. My suspicions grew and I walked over to see the reason for a large group of people's excitement.

There was a guy standing in the center of the crowd and he was popular for his skills at hypnotizing people. He seemed mysterious to me. His aura was undeniably captivating. While I was standing and looking at him, thirty people turned into fifty in the blink of an eye.

I couldn't take my eyes off him. He has the charm to stop people and convert their attention to him. He raised his voice. "Who wants to try today?"

When Jacob was looking through the crowd, our eyes met. I didn't bother to look away because I was lost in his blue eyes. He looked at me up and down two times and a heat I started to feel between my legs. He picked a few people and showed his skills flawlessly. Once again, our eyes met when he was picking an individual for hypnotizing.

He pointed at me and asked me to come up on the stage with him. I recalled my Gram's supplies and shook my head. He squinted, and I turned around. I don't know how but I still felt his eyes on me, and I started walking to that garden shop.

After buying supplies and some other snacks, I headed back, still feeling his presence around me. I looked right and left but he was nowhere. I shook my head and blamed his presence only on my mind and nothing else.

The whole day and night went by in fits and starts, and all I could think about was Jacob's blue eyes. Even though I tried to get rid of his hypnotic charm, his picture kept coming back to me like an echo. And I found my hand between my legs while thinking about him. I immediately removed my hand and to figure out what was going on with me, I made up a reason to go back to the market the next day, saying to Grams that I needed to get some things I had forgotten.

I went back into the busy market and saw Jacob standing there again, mesmerizing everyone with his mysterious charm and hypnotic skills. From a distance, I watched, curious and skeptical at the same time. I was proud of having a strong mind and calm feelings that I had developed through a lot of reading and practice to protect myself from such tricks.
