Rough day

I looked for the house keys in my jacket pocket. "Where are those damn keys?" I cursed. I had already had a rough day at work. And believe me, it was rough. As more and more time passed, I remembered that I had left the keys on the dining room table. I stood there like an idiot. "I'm fed up with my life right now," I thought. God must have really hated me in my old life. I knelt down in front of the front door and lifted the door mat. "Finally..." I muttered to myself as I saw a spare key. I placed the key in my palm and stood up. I placed my hand on the doorknob and opened the door. I was about to kick the door in if I hadn't found a spare key, I was sure of that.

I literally jumped on my bed as I entered the bedroom. The moment I lay on my bed, I closed my eyes in exhaustion. I didn't even bother to take off my work clothes. To be honest, I didn't even care. Memories of my day at work came back to me. And I can still remember one in particular.

I was standing in front of the cash register, doing my work in peace. When an old woman was in line to scan her groceries. "So, that's 75 pounds," I said. "Uhh, wait a minute, sir," she mumbled quietly, but I heard I heard her, though. She took her purse and searched for her card. And it took damn long. "Finally...", I thought to myself when she found the card. She tried to put her card in the card reader many times, but with no luck. At that moment, she was already getting on my nerves, but I managed to control myself. And her card didn't even work!

I still didn't realize at that moment that this lady wanted to start a problem with me. "Your card reader is broken!", she said, annoyed. "Oh dear", I thought. "That's not true. It works perfectly, madame.", I said, trying to get her to calm down or to get 'myself' to calm down. "Look! It would work if it wasn't broken!" she said rudely. "She is acting like she is working here...", I thought. "I already told you it wasn't broken, madame.", I said. "Are you kidding me! It's clearly broken! I want to talk to your manager.", she said, even more annoyed. "This is the first time that I met a Karen, lucky me..." I thought, with my eyes half closed in disbelief.

And the fight went on and on. The customers behind her were starting to complain. They were yelling at us and saying things like: "Can't you argue somewhere else?!" "Madame, let go of your ego, we don't have time for your ass!" "My bread will rot if she doesn't stop complaining!"

A sigh left my lips as I remembered that Karen. If I hadn't kept my cool, I'm sure I would have ripped out her hair and she would walk around like the rock. With that thought, I slowly fell asleep.

So, that was the first chapter.
Did you like the first chapter or not?

If the answer is no, then I don't give a fuck. 😘
