Alyssa and Adam were out walking, there was mist in the air, with a cold breeze. They both wore their coats, the fog from the hills has still not fully disappeared. Instead it has got worse.

"Honestly, today was exhausting." Alyssa sighed.

"Same here, I think I have a headache." Adam said.

"Do walks help you feel better?" Alyssa asked.

"Yes they help a lot." Adam said. Alyssa looked down at Soda, she was staying close to Adam,

"Hey, is your cat always this close to you?" Alyssa asked. Adam noticed,

"No, it's just from the last time she got lost, it turns out that-" He paused,

"Right, I shouldn't tell her that girl Derik has gave her to me. It was definitely Derik who stole Soda, I just don't want Alyssa to be even more upset." He thought.

"That what?" She asked.

"I just found her in a dangerous place. I don't know what happened but she has been jumpy and quiet lately. Not herself, you know?" Adam said.

"Oh, yeah, I know what you mean. Also, why did you get a cat? How long have you had her?" Alyssa asked.

"Well, there isn't a reason not to get her. I love socializing and hate being alone all the time. So I went to the pet store and got her as a kitten. It's been a year now and she is already so close to me." He said.

"Oh, why did you move away from your family then?" She asked. Adam smiled nervously,

"Well, my family thought money was the only thing a child needed to be loved, but my dad was supportive until he got caught up with work and I don't have any siblings so even if I stayed there, there wouldn't be a difference." Adam said.

"Oh right." Alyssa sighed. It was quiet for a while. Alyssa was still stuck thinking how she would be able to talk to Derik again. She was so lost in her mind that she almost crossed the road while a car came by. Adam quickly grabbed her and pulled her away,

"H-hey be careful! A-are you alright?" Adam asked.

"S-sorry I didn't mean to." Alyssa said.

"Are you okay, Alyssa? Please speak to me, I have been worried about you for days now. Please tell me what's going on." He said. She turned away and tucked her hands in her pockets,

"Adam, stop caring so much please, it hurts me when you worry too much. I just don't want to tell you." She said. Adam grabbed her hand,

"If you don't feel like telling me it's fine, but whatever it is I will always support you no matter what." He said. Alyssa smiled,

"Thanks, you are one of the sweetest people I know, I don't know what I would ever do without you." She said. Adam smiled back,

"Of course." He said. Soda walked towards Alyssa and rubbed against her feet, "Would you look at that, she really likes you." He laughed.

"Please tell her to stop. I don't like animals!" Alyssa said. Adam sighed and picked up his cat,

"Just pet her." He insisted.

"No! It has fur everywhere and it's also a black cat! Why would I want to touch that thing." She said.

"Come one just this once." He said.

"No!" She said.

"Please."

"No. No. No. No! I do not-" Before Alyssa continued Adam handed over his cat and she started holding her.
