War Preparation

Andrew's POV

I can't believe Nani lied to us. I can't get mad at her, though. I need to ask her why she did it instead of ignoring her like Alicia has. Well, I won't blame Alicia entirely. I was furious with Nani too and ignored her for a week, but ignoring my friend doesn't feel right, so I decided to confront her today.

I found Nani at the table, glumly using the new phone I got for her. When she saw me, she started crying.

I've always known Nani to be the emotional type, while Alicia is more of the strong, stoic one.

I tried to console Nani, but she kept wailing about being the worst friend ever.

"You're not the worst friend ever. You're the opposite of that," I reassured her, but she continued crying, though it lessened after a few minutes. That's when Alicia and Richard came downstairs.

"Hello, guys! How are you doing?" Richard asked.

Both of them were smiling like newlyweds. I wondered what was so amusing after last week's events. Don't tell me Alicia has moved on... so quickly!

"Why are you guys so excited?" I asked, curious about what could be so thrilling. Are they...

"Nothing much, just that this week has been nice, and I forgive everyone for what they've done, just because of this trip," Alicia replied, sounding genuinely excited.

"Even me?" Nani asked through her teary voice, finally lifting her head.

"How could I stay mad at you for long? I'm better than that. Although, you should thank God because He guided me to forgive you. After all, you're only human," Alicia responded, a bit bluntly as if she hadn't fully let go of the issue.

"What really happened to you guys?" She asked

"I am happy that God has given me internal peace" Alicia answered and I looked Richard who was grinning. He caught my gaze but he didn't stop smiling.

"That's the same thing she told me when I saw her this morning" he shrugged.

"That's very nice and weird at the same time" I scoffed.

"Well not as weird and nice as you and Nani" Alicia laughed.

Before I could respond, King Will rushed downstairs with the General.

"I've got bad news. Emerald Kingdom has allied with King Sturgis, they have given us a warning that they are coming for us" the General informed us. "We have gathered armies but we also need your help"

"And God's help too" I muttered and they agreed.

"So what is the plan?" Richard asked.

"We are going to bring out small group of armies to weaken them first and then we will bring out the full army which obviously will take them by surprise. The King will stay here and if you guys will fight with us, you have to prepare in less than an hour because they can appear anytime" the General explained to us.

"Okay then, let's start preparing" Richard nodded.

"We haven't prayed " Alicia said in a sing-song voice.

"Okay gather around everybody" King Will said quickly.

"Lord, we want to thank You for all You've done for us. Right now..." King Will was cut off by a terrifying noise. "Lord, thank You, and please protect every one of us. Amen." He had to rush the prayer, and we all said amen.

"Nani, are you feeling better now?" I asked, worried she might be scared about the impending conflict.

"Don't worry, Andrew. I'm not scared. All this traveling and training wasn't for nothing," Nani reassured me.

"Okay, but be careful, alright?" I said, sounding like a concerned parent, and Nani laughed at my fatherly behavior.

"Um... Nani, I want to apologize for ignoring you all this time because of some petty lie instead of standing by you and supporting you. I got angry at you unnecessarily," Alicia interrupted us.

"It's okay. I also need to apologize to you. I judged you, and I even lied to you. I'm sorry," Nani said, and they hugged, forgetting me in the process. Hahaha. How funny.

"Sorry to interrupt your emotional reconciliation, but we're all in danger. Get ready for war," Richard said, and I chuckled at the scene with the besties.

"You have to learn one lesson from me. Lesson number one, Let's do this" Alicia said with so much zeal.
