Rosana

I've tried to calm myself down before completely exiting the metro train and making sure I didn't leave any of my belongings behind.

Because if it's one thing I know about metros is that whatever you leave behind, never comes back.

A soft tune rung as my cell vibrated in my back pocket. Picking it up and pressing the green button, I quietly answered, "Hello?"

"Are you here yet? Ma's starting to get worried," my brother, Richard, muffled against the speaker.

"Uh, yeah," I confirmed, nodding to myself. "I'm about to go to the store to get a few groceries; I don't want to eat everything up while I'm visiting. And tell Ma I'm fine before she gives herself a heart attack," I joked a soft smile on my lips.

"No, Rosie, come straight home," my brother said sternly. "Ma doesn't want you to use the money you have on us, and neither do I. Besides, we have food at home."

"I just don't want you guys to be low on storage," I replied softly. "I know you and Ma are tight on money right now..."

"We're fine, Rosie," Richard assured, "We're fine."

"Excuse me," a voice said. I flicked my head in the direction that I'd heard the voice; I had to look down. I hadn't realized that most of my merchandise were scattered on the ground until I saw a little girl picking it up for me. Unconsciously, I ended the phone call with my brother.

"Oh, u-um, it's fine. I got it," I assured, making sure to give the girl and I enough space before bending down and grabbing the rest of my things. I tucked a few strands of hair that was interfering with my vision behind my ear in the process.

"Oh! I am so sorry," a light voice called. "She's a hyper one," she said, "and a clumsy one as well." The lady grinned, gathering the rest of my items. The little girl giggled uneasily as she hid behind, who was assumed to be, her mother's leg.

"Thanks," I said, having sudden interest of my dull shoes. "And, uh, it's okay." Shaking my head to myself, I added, "Nothing's broken or anything."

"I apologize once more." The woman smiled widely. "Oh, where are my manners? Valdovino," she said, one of her hands striking upwards, "Brinley Valdovino. And this is my daughter, Katherine."

I finally took the chance to analyze the smaller figure behind the woman's leg. The front of her hair was pulled up into a ponytail and clipped with a silver band as the rest of her curly blonde hair cascaded down past her shoulders. She had a pink, spaghetti-strap dress that contained little white flowers all around. Her pale skin brought out the pastel pink of her lips and intriguing emerald eyes.

I wonder who the husband is, I thought. This couple created a child who's features represented a Goddess.

I looked up and stared at the woman. She's waiting for you to say something, my conscious screamed, say something!

I cracked a smile, "Y-Your daughter's beautiful."

She finally put down her hand, realizing that I wasn't going to take it. I felt bad, but with this condition that I have, I'd figured she would expect some kind of friendship later on. And I don't do people. However, the smile she had on before never left.

"Thank you!" she said gleefully.

Maybe she understands.

A pregnant silence suddenly came upon us.

"Well I must be going now-"

"I have to go-"

"Okay," she grinned. What a happy lady. "Say, do you come here often?"

"Uh, every first week of the month," I nodded, nervously rubbing my elbow.

I wasn't really sure on giving her information at such quick pace, but I needed to leave now.

Because if this conversation continues any longer, this lady might witness a 19 year old female having a meltdown.

As I was thinking of a plan to end the conversation faster, a high-pitched cheer claimed my eardrums. Like a dog, my head shifted to the direction of the noise, looking around the area for whoever made such a loud greeting.

"Uncle Casper!"

I turned my head to see the same curly-headed toddler running across the station with her tiny legs. A man, not much of a few feet away, had turned to look at Katherine and knelt down on a knee and greeted her. She stopped and smiled at the figure, then returned the action; I smiled inwardly.

What a cute relationship.

My attention was brought back to the woman in front of me. "Well, that's my cue to leave," Mrs. Valdovino chuckled to herself, spinning in a circle. She had't realized that her daughter left our presence. How did she not hear her daughter's pterodactyl call? "I'll see you around, Miss?"

Right when she said that, all I could do was stare. I stared with a tiny smile on my face as if she had just complimented me. But it dropped as soon as the tiny voice in my head spoke.

She's talking to you!

"Oh! Ah, Rosana...Edison," I added, nodding.

"Rosana," she repeated, her sky-blue eyes looking upwards as the edge of her lips curved up. "Beautiful name."

"Thank you. I guess I'll see you." As I finished that, I stumbled upon my own belongings, making me chuckle out of embarrassment and speed walk towards the escalators.

Suddenly, my phone sang to me, slightly buzzing in my back pocket.

"A goodbye would've been nice," Richard chuckled after I answered his call.

((830-930 words :] - more than the usual 400-500))

Hello!!

So Rosie met a special someone before Casper; the little cutie is playing as Katherine (Katie) R. Valdovino.

She's someone I found off of Google images, tbh, so if anyone knows that name of this girl, please tell me!

So it's not only Rosie that's low on cash, but her family as well. *sighs* If only someone could help her...

Why did Rosie smile when Brinley asked for her name? Hmm..

Next update on Friday! Please vote, share and like while you're waiting :)

See ya later, alligators!
