"How was the trip?" Brinley began.
"Don't get me started," I retorted, rolling my eyes as I let the machine eat my metro card, open up the doors and rushed through.
"What happened?" she urged.
"How are you and Marcellino?" Our mother interjected. "I've heard that you two got settled into a new home."
"Mom, he told you to call him Marc," Brinley sighed, "but it's really nice; we just need a few more pieces of furniture. You guys should visit, Katie hasn't had her daughter-grandma or daughter-uncle time."
I nodded slowly as we finally exited and headed for our car. Sighing in relief, I opened the door and sat in the far corner of everyone else. I sat patiently after swiping my hands together with hand-sanitizer.

My heel jutted up and down and I fiddled with my fingers. My niece coughed and sneezed a few times without covering herself, so I had to use the rest of my sanitizing wipes on her. We've only been driving for a short amount of time, no longer than an hour, but I began to feel myself shake and requested for a pit stop to the closest gas station for some air. Once I started to see the dust particles in the car, I panicked and started to wave my hands around, as if I were trying to push past it.
"Uncle Casper, you look funny waving at nothing," my niece giggled, and tried to mimic my actions.
"Don't make fun of your Uncle, Katherine," Brinley scolds, her whispering skills in lack of.
"Mom," I mumbled.
"I know, Hun," my mother nodded, getting off the nearest exit.

I inhaled deeply as soon as I stepped out of the car. And like a breath of fresh air, I smiled.
I turned around to face my mother as I said, "I'm going inside for more wipes and a snack."

The bell that was attached on the head of the door rung as I entered. I went straight to the area where the tiny building carried cleaning wipes, for I had to use my hands to push the door.
Nasty germs.
Right when I turned into the aisle, I bumped into a small figure. Being polite, I made an attempt to apologize. She too, apologized however.
"Sorry-"
"Excuse me-"
We looked at each other in surprise, but the girl immediately shot her head down.
I, on the other hand, couldn't stop looking.
The girl's eyes were as brown as cinnamon, with a darker shade of it that rimmed around the iris. She had blonde hair, much like Katherine's, only for it to be straight and longer just above the waist. Her style in clothing wasn't much like every other girl I see pass by, with their crop tops and high shorts. She had on a black leather jacket that hovered over her plain gray t-shirt, navy blue joggers and old dark green converse.
She shifted uncomfortably as she tucked a chunk of her hair behind her ear. I shook my head, cracking a small smile as I chuckled lightly.
"My apologies-"
"It was my fault-"
It was her turn to laugh. Her body shook as she giggled softly, her attention back on the floor.
She suddenly stopped, looking confused as her scrunched her eyebrows together. She then cleared her throat.
"Sorry," she uttered as she passed me.
