The Sea, The Sky & The Pony (The Little Mermaid, Pretty Cure & My Little Pony)

Chapter Nine

-Ariel-

Eric and I got onto the boat, sitting faced in front of each other and he began to row the boat backwards farther into the Lagoon while my friends and the pony was hiding the trees. I leaned over the boat and started to look down into the water and around the Lagoon, then I heard lots of cawing that I knew was Scuttle, but I was tuning her out.

While Eric was rowing the boat, the bamboo started to hit against each other and make a beat, along with some bugs, and then a flock of pink birds flew over us. Eric ducked down and I smiled and kept observing the nature around me.

I started to lean over the boat again and look at my reflection in the water and I could see Eric staring at me through my peripheral vision, but I decided not to look up at him. I'll let him think I don't notice him staring.

We started rowing into some vines and a waterfall and I was playing around with the vines as we rowed through it. I then looked at the paddles that Eric was rowing and I wanted to try, so I leaned over and placed my hands on them. "Do you want to try?" Eric asked me softly and I nodded.

I stood up and bumped into one of the paddles causing me to fall into Eric's lap and he put his arm around my waist and I put my hand on his chest. We stared at each other for a brief moment before I scooted off of him and we were both rowing the boat. I could see Eric smiling at me through my peripheral vision and I started to hide my smile by turning my face and looking down into the Lagoon.

We finally rowed out of the vines and we were now in this open body of water in the Lagoon and Eric began to speak. "What a clear night, you can see Orion" I was confused. orion? what's that? "The sailors use the constellations to navigate," he explained then pointed to a group of stars in the sky. "That one's Orion, The Hunter" as if he read my mind and knew I didn't know what Orion was.

He took his hat off and laid down on the boat still pointing to the sky. "There's Aries, The Ram" I mocked his movement and laid down on the boat as well. "That's Cassiopeia.. that's funny," he chuckled. what's funny? he turned and looked at me. "Still don't know your name" he said. "let's see," he started and began listing a few names that weren't mine.

He started to name letters of the alphabet and he told me to shush him when he says the first letter of my name. He said the first letter of my name and I placed my finger up to his lips and he looked at me. He repeated the letter and I nodded and he started to list a bunch of names starting with that letter. "Is it.... Ariel?" he finally said. I smiled and nodded and he started smiling too. "Ariel?" he repeated with a giggle and I continued to nod. it feels good to hear him finally knowing and saying my name.

"That's a beautiful name," he mumbled while turning back to look at the sky and I continued to smile, Looking back at the sky as well. Out of my peripheral vision again, I saw Eric slowly turning his head back to stare at me, then he looked back into the sky. I saw him turn to look at me again, so I turned to look at him and we continued to stare at each other.

He closed his eyes and started leaning in and I almost gave in for a moment, but then I jolted up and moved back where I was sitting before. I want to kiss him, I do! But I'm afraid for some reason.

He got up too and a bunch of fireflies started to light up around us and it all looked so beautiful. I could've sworn I saw Scuttle flying through the vines causing this, but it could've just been my eyes playing tricks on me. There was a lot of glowing fish in the water that started to swim around our boat as we made our way back through the vines and Eric and I both leaned over and looked at the fish in the water.

They started spitting water out around us and one of the fish spit water out on Eric's cheek on accident and he started to laugh and get away from the edge of the boat. I placed my hand up to his face to wipe the water off and he stopped smiling and he grabbed my hand in his. I looked down at him holding my hand and back up to his face and he was giving me the same look he gave a second ago when we almost kissed.

I put my other hand on top of his hand that was holding my other hand and we both were looking at each other hesitantly and I knew the moment was coming. We're about to kiss, like actually this time. We both closed our eyes and started to lean in and I was preparing to feel those soft lips of his on mine, but suddenly the boat flipped over causing us both to fall right into the water.

Our smile was faded after we saw the boat are falling down. "What the...." I, my friends and the pony shocked about this. Then Ellee and Misty saw it, they found something and we looked that's a The Eels. "Great. They trick them." Mashiro sighed and anger. "I believe that Ursula and Opaline ordered to them for prevent the kiss." I said, then we see Ellee, she too angrily about them.

Eric started to laugh and reached for his hat. "What was that?" he chuckled and we were close to the sand, so we could stand up in the water. He came over to me and grabbed my hand and we began to walk out of the water and into the sand and then we took off back up towards the castle in the carriage with my friends.

We made it to the castle and we took off our shoes since we were soaking wet and the shoes would make squeaking noises if we kept them on. "Everyone's asleep, we should probably be quiet" Eric whispered to us and we nodded while having his hat on. He put it on me when we were in the carriage on the way back up here.

We started to hear two voices and he guided me to this area for us to hide. "Has he been avoiding me?" I heard a woman that i'm assuming is Eric's mother. "No, Your Majesty" I heard the voice that belonged to Grimsby reply. "No?" the woman said again. They kept saying "no" back and forth for a moment until they made their way down the stairs.

Eric looked at us and started to laugh silently and I started to silently laugh with him, then he closed his eyes. "Avoiding you doesn't seem like Eric, does it?" Grimsby defended as we heard their voices getting closer and closer. "Then where is he?" wow his mother really sounds distraught and worried.

"I wasn't supposed to leave the castle today, but i'm glad I did" he explained with a smile and I smiled back at him. "All these rules... the truth is.. I wasn't born into all this and it all makes me feel a little un-" Eric got interrupted by Grimsby peering around the wall and approaching us. "Welcome back, Sire!" he exclaimed causing Eric to turn right around.

"Oh, Grimsby!" Eric cleared his throat and we both walked out from behind the wall and the 3 of us walked to the front of the stairs. "I trust you two had a pleasant outing" Grimsby assumed. "Ahh yes we did, didn't we? Yes! Very nice" Eric rambled. "You've had a long day miss, I imagine we should let you get some sleep" Grimsby then turned to me and said.

"And perhaps dried off as well," Eric walked inbetween us and started to talk. "Oh uh yes, we took a row boat out onto the Lagoon and i'm afraid we ended up in it" he laughed and I laughed along. "Anyway," Eric said and I started to walk up the stairs. "Goodnight" he said and we turned around back down the stairs and took off his hat and placed it back on his head.

"Goodnight," he repeated when I took off back up the stairs. "Ariel." when he said my name I looked back at him with a smile then turned to continue up the stairs. I could feel his eyes still on me as we made our way up the stairs.
