"I'm on Vince's team too!" mocked Celeste. Florian laughed at that, of course, while the other brother just tried to cover his ears and shut out the voices of the two sitting next to him. But suddenly he had the feeling that someone was watching. Vincent looked to his right at the Cullens' table where a set of yellow eyes were staring at him. The boy's quizzical gaze shifted to the shortest Cullen, with whom he maintained eye contact for a few seconds. He'd never spoken to her before, they'd only looked at each other a couple of times when their brothers were scolding each other, but this time it was different, a strange feeling filled him as they looked at each other. It was the first time Vince had really looked at her. Her hair was pretty interesting but even that suited her, her white skin was intact and eye-catching. And her yellow eyes almost sparkled. He didn't know much about her except what her father told him about her and her family. Her name was Alice and she had a special gift. She could see the future, though it wasn't explained in great detail how, but Vince certainly thought it was cool.
The boy quickly turned his head back to his sibling duo hoping they didn't notice his uncomfortably long stare. Fortunately for him, they were still busy making fun of Jessica, so Vince just kept on with his silent silence.
He didn't say a word until the end of the lunch break because he was still thinking about the Cullen girl. How had he never noticed how beautiful she was?
The boy stormed off to his next class, which was art. He loved to draw, but it was more of a hobby. On the way, that very strange feeling came back, but now even stronger. Vince had no idea what was going on so he quickly headed to the toilets and burst in. Thank God there was no one in there as the bell slowly rang. Vince stepped up to the sink and rinsed his head with a big handful of water. This might help. Of course not.
After the failed attempt, he gave up and headed for class. He wandered through the empty and silent corridors from where, to a normal person, only quiet words could be heard from the classrooms.
When he finally arrived everyone suddenly looked towards the door and stared at the handsome young man. But Vince noticed that his usual seat was taken by one of the Cullens. It was odd, the two Cullens in the class always sat next to each other. The only empty seat was next to the pixie girl. Vince rolled his eyes and after an unnecessary sigh, sat down next to the her. He'd never been this close to a Cullen girl before, only with the boys since he'd pushed Emmett aside many times when Celeste and he had their daily squabble and once or twice even the blonde guy. But he's never really been near a girl Cullen. Alice's scent was very delicate and soft. For the first time in his long life, he smelled such a pleasing scent. For a moment he accidentally held his nose. What he hoped she hadn't seen.
The smell made Vince lose his concentration, and for the second time today he stared at the short-haired girl, trying in vain to resist. Now he could even get a closer look. He couldn't take his eyes off her perfect features and those golden eyes. Of course Alice noticed.
"Hello?" She looked at the staring boy. "Is everything alright?" If it could be possible, his head would have been as red as a tomato. How the hell was he supposed to get out of this situation? "My apologies... you just look uhm.. incredibly gorgeous." When he realised he'd actually said it, he mentally slapped himself. "Okay this came out in a weird way. I'm Vincent.. Hawthorne." He said the last part more quietly. She just nodded and was surprised at the British accent of the Brit sitting in front of her.
"And may I ask your name?" Vince spoke again after realizing that she didn't really want to give any kind of answer. "I'm pretty sure you already know that." She replied, not taking her eyes off her paper. "But I want to hear it from you." At this she turned around and Vince dared to bet she smiled a little. "Why do you wanna know my name?" Smirked the girl. "Blimey. Is it illegal to know a pretty girl's name?" Smirked the boy back.
"Alice."She said before turning back again.
The time was burning curiously but quickly. Alice packed up in a conspicuous hurry but the other vampire stopped her. "Well it was a pleasure to meet you Miss Alice." He said, looking down at her and taking the smaller hand that belonged to her before pressing a kiss to it. Her eyes lit up even more than usual and she froze for a few seconds. Finally Vince was the first of the two to leave.
"I'm beginning to regret sharing my vision with you." Alice complained to her sister. "I saw what I saw, don't deny it Alice!" She nudged the vampire walking beside her as they walked out into the parking lot to join the others.
"What's the chit chat about?" Emmett asked.
"The air was full of romance in the Art classroom!" Charlotte announced and winked at Alice.
"I told you to stay away from him." Emmett scowled at the girl who just shrugged.
Finally the others arrived with the Hawthornes behind them. "Oi! I believe this is yours." shouted Emett at the blonde one with a huge grin and threw a car key into her hands.
"You little piece of-" She was about to lunge at Emmett, who was almost twice her size, but her two brothers held her down and tried to drag her towards the car. "So funny big boy. I'm starting to become jealous of all the people who haven't met you. " Vince said back to which he only got a growl in response. But before he could turn around, he winked at the smallest member of the group.
