The Bitter Truth

Yeji's Pov

I was really excited today. Excited because Jennie unnie had finally agreed on meeting Yeonjun. 

I still remember initially how angry she had been after meeting Taehyung oppa and the fact that she had agreed to it showed she was giving us her approval right.

I looked into the mirror and smiled. I wore a white colour dress with my hair in a bun and wore some cute accessories, especially the necklace that Yeonjun had given me.

Suddenly the door opened and Jennie unnie came inside. She did not look particularly angry or happy. She was just... poker faced.

"Kim Yeonjun is here. He is sitting in the garden and waiting for you. Come down quickly."

"Yes unnie!". I said ecstatically and Unnie gave me a little smile.

I looked at myself one last time in the year and walked down the stairs. 

I reached the garden and saw Yeonjun sitting almost stiffly and Jennie unnie sitting opposite to him. 

I don't know but the tension was in the air and I could feel it. After all she had agreed to this so i should not make any conclusions. I should just trust her.

I sat beside Yeonjun and his face immediately lit up when he saw me. He held my hand and whispered in my ear.

"I am so glad you came, your sister is scary". 

We both glanced at unnie who was looking elsewhere. Then I realized that this was probably not the most ideal position to sit infront of her. So I squatted away a bit and Yeonjun looked at me and raised his eyebrows questioningly.

"So Yeonjun, Do you love my sister truly?" Unnie asked straight to the point. Of course that was expected.

Before I could look at him, he immediately answered a Yes without any hesitation.

Unnie sipped her coffee and then looked away for a second. I was wondering what was going on in her mind and I felt Yeonjun's hand squeezing mine to reassure me.

"I will be honest with you Yeonjun. I have no problem with you and I will agree to your relationship." Unnie said looking straight at him. I squeezed his hand when he smiled so brightly that it looked like cherry blossoms. 

"I am so so grateful Miss Jennie! I love you!, No I mean to say I like you". He blabbered on.

"Hear me out first. I have a few questions for you." Unnie spoke smiling at him.

"Ask away please." 

"Do you intend to marry Yeji?"

I was shocked. We both looked at each other and he stared into my eyes for a few moments. Maybe that was too early to ask....

"Yes, I intend to marry her."

The moment he said that I was stunned. I looked at him open mouthed but he just winked at me. Truth to be told I was afraid because even if he said no I would not have blamed him considering it had not been that long since we started dating. 5 months at most.

"So Yeonjun, I have a condition." Unnie spoke clasping her hands together.

"Whatever is it you can say it right away Miss Jennie. I will readily agree to it."

Author's Pov

Yeonjun was delighted. He never expected that she would agree to their relationship this easily. Maybe he misunderstood her...

"The condition is after marriage you will come and leave with us and you will never contact your brother again." Jennie spoke calmly. The words hitting Yeonjun like a thunder. 

Leave his brother? What was this lady even talking about?! Was she...was she asking him to choose between Yeji and Tae Hyung?

"Unnie what are-". Yeji was cut off by Jennie. "Let him speak Yeji. This is my only condition. Nothing else."

"I am sorry Yeji I love you a lot, more than myself and if I had a option to sacrifice myself I would have done it readily but she...she is asking me to leave hyung. How is that even possible? That man has sacrificed so much for me baby. If I abandon him I will never be able to live. I can't live without my Taehyungie hyung. I am so sorry." Yeonjun spoke getting up and kissing Yeji's forehead for one last time.
