I woke up in my bed by my alarm it was Monday and I had to get ready for school I jumped out of bed tired and started getting dressed putting my hair in a bun and slipping on my new Reebok's, I walked down stairs, Grabbed a banana and chugged a glass of milk then started walking to school, My parents were never up when I got to school they trusted me and if I didn't show up they knew Hopper would come to the house, When I got to school Hopper wasn't there I shrugged my shoulder and waited outside until Damon started approaching me but suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder "We got any problems here" "No sir" "Then you best be off" Damon quickly backed off and back into school I turned around and kissed hopper "My hero" We held hands and walked into school "See you in second Joy stay safe" "I will love you" "Love you" And we parted ways I had to get some books from my locker but the bell rang so I shoved past a bunch of people got my books quickly and headed to class "Alright everyone take a seat, today we have got a new student, Scott Clark" I looked up at him and then back to the clock "Take a seat next to Joyce Scott, Joyce be nice to Scott... Joyce... Joyce Horwitz can you hear me" I snapped out of it "Yeah" everyone was laughing it made me feel small "Hey Joyce" He held out his hand to shake mine so I did "Hey Scott" "Are you from Hawkins" "Yeah were you from" "Illinois" "Wow if never been out of Hawkins but you know it's not that bad when you get used to it there are a few good people" "And I can already tell your one Joyce" "Thanks" I started listening before Scott called me "Joyce" "yeah" "Can I sit with you at lunch" "Sure why not".

After a few more classes with Hop and none with Scott me and Hop made are way to the cafatireia hand in hand "I'm telling you she'll be happy you know" "I don't know Joy" When we sat down a minute later Scott was in the doorway looking around so I waved my hand in the sky "Hop Scott, Scott Hop" "Oh Hey Hop" Hop looked him up and down "Call me Hopper" Scott took a seat in Karen's old spot "So Hop, Scott's new in town" "I can tell" "Oh stop being a buzz kill" "I'm not" "So what do you guys do around here for fun, do you skip classes or what" "Yeah we skip class all the time" "Oh I like school so I don't" Hop gave him a weird look "Well if you want this once the three of us can skip and we can show you around town" "I guess once won't hurt" Hopper rolled his eyes and I elbowed him "Okay let's go" Hopper stood up and we all ran down the road for a minute. When Hopper was a bit infront Scott asked me this "Why are you friends with him he's mean" "What no hoppers not mean or my friend he's my boyfriend" "Oh" Hopper looked back "Keep up" "Hopper" "What you had your turn" Scott looked confused "Hopper seriously its no-" "Neither was Karen" At this point Scott was really confused "Anyway were should we show him first" "Melvalds and maybe we can try again" "Yeah we need to do this" I let out a chuckle "Oh Scott so basically-" "Joyce" "Sorry" "Hey man lighten up" "Okay Hopper I'm sorry now I know how it feels with Karen so can you stop" "Okay sorry".

We walked into melvalds and no surprise Robin was working "There she is" I pointed at her "On yeah that's my aunt" Hopper turned to him jaw on the floor "Oh my god" I turned to Scott and he looked confused "Yeah we should probably go or she'll tell my mom" "No not while me and Hop's here" "Okay Joyce you go check the resses again" I walked off leaving Scott and Hopper alone they weren't talking though I returned to them with resses "And no hop your not allowed any" I Scrunched up my nose smiled and booped his nose, we walked up the till but the first person Robin layed eyes on was Scott  "Scott your supposed to be at sc-" "Robin it's me and Hop" "Oh" "Yeah" I placed the resses on the resses on the counter "You tell him" Hopper looked at me and nodded and looked back at her "Robin to be honest he already knew" Her jaw opened shocked "Why is today so confusing" Robin turned to Scott and sighed she looked as she was about to cry, Hopper handed me the money and left "Well Hop he he's my my son" Scott's mouth dropped "Yeah sorry Robin he just really doesn't-" "Like me why" "Well you did leave him with an abusive father" "Abusive" The blood drained from her face and Scott left aswel "Why do you think he is always so busted up" She sighed "On the house".

I left and saw the boys on the bench "On the bright side the Resses were free" "Oh Joyce I love you" He stood up and kissed me "Let's all go to the ice cream parlour" "Yeah" Scott stood up he looked mind blown "Look Hopper I don't get what you're problem is with me but were family deal with it" Hopper turned to me and pointed his thumb at Scott "Get a load of hot shot here thinks he's big man or something" "Hopper stop your jealousy is getting out of hand" "Yeah okay Joyce let's just pretend you never started a fight with Karen" "She started it" "No I think you're the one that told her to take a hike and called her a dickhead" "Hopper that's different" "Name how Joyce" "Because Because" "finish your sentence" "Scott's nice" "So is Karen" "No she isn't" "How do you know you never really actually talked to her" "She just-" "Forget it Joyce go to the lake with your boyfriend I don't care I'm going Home" "Hopper don't" And he just turned away and walked of when me him and Karen had this problem he stuck up for me not Karen even though I was a jerk, "Scott k don't think we can be friends" "Why not does he get to decide that" "No but I do and when I was jealous of his friend he cut her off and doesn't talk to her anymore" "I'm guessing that's Karen" "Yeah sorry but iv got to go before he gets hurt" "Well Bye Joyce I will always think of you as my friend" I smiled at him and ran to catch up to Hopper.
