3rd Person POV:If Luc knew this would be his last lazy day, would he accept it again? Stupid question, of course he would, he always loves a challenge.
It was 3 Am again. Luc was laying in bed, watching BSD again, just like every day when he couldn't fall asleep. Currently, he was watching his favorite episode of Ranpo's backstory, which made him even more awake than he already was. Ranpo was his favorite, which is why he stole his style and tried to take his Character, but he easily slips out of it again sometimes.
Luc sometimes cursed at some people, but other than that he was silent. After four episodes, he got tired of watching BSD and turned the series off, groaning while doing so. 'What do I watch now...? Maybe some "The case study of Vanitas?" Nah... Perhaps some Lets plays?', he thought for himself, 'But from what? I basically already watched everything... damn it, why can't I just fucking sleep?!', he continued to think, while scrolling through his YouTube front page. After a while, he just decided 'Fuck it', and put on the next best video he could find, which just happened to be a random cooking show. After that, he just let Autoplay decide what he should watch next.
A few hours went by. By now, his alarm went off. He did his usual routine, but this time he went to take a shower.
After the refreshing shower, he did his usual black coffee, again, burning his tongue with the first sip. Legends say, that maybe one day he will learn to let his coffee cool down a bit before drinking. After finishing the coffee, he went to his bike and drove to the agency. This time he got even more nasty looks at him. He only shook it off, continuing to get to his office, being used to it, but it somehow felt different than usual.
Suddenly, his boss entered – normally never a good sign. 'What could have gone wrong this time? Was it because of yesterday where I insulted that guy so much he slapped me?!'. Clara went up to him and put a file down on his desk. "I need you to take care of this case! The case was just reported fresh to the police, but they have a feeling that this is going to be a complicated one, so you're going to help! Seaside Str. 45 is the address. We need you to go there post-haste, understood?", said Clara in a strict voice.
Luc loves mysteries, that's why he became a detective in the first place. He nodded and stoop up. "I will go there right away, boss", he responded, excited. His boss only sighed and stepped out of his office. Luc picked up the file and walked out of the building. "Oh Luc, one thing: As long as you're on this case, you're free to work from home, so no need to come here. You'll need that peace.", his boss said to him, while Luc was walking past her, now in a calm voice.
Luc seemed suspicious at that now, questioning if there really is a crime, or if this is just an elaborate lie to shy him out of the office, but he only shrugged at himself, and drove to the Crime scene either way. The police were there, like every normal investigation.
"Ah, you must be Mr. Detective Scarleight! We're glad you're here. Did your boss tell the details?", said Officer Williams upon spotting Luc, who only shook his head in response. "She gave me a file though, I didn't read it, will do that later.", Luc said, hiding his excitement behind a professional demeanor. The officer nodded. "Well, the details about the victims are in the files. But they didn't seem to have any enemies, so they are no immediate suspects.", said Officer Williams.
Both Luc and Officer Williams went into the house, going straight to the crime scene, the master bedroom.
"Oh, this is a real blood-fest, I see why you called us.", Luc said immediately after seeing the room. There were body markers, one on the bed, and on the floor in front of a desk that's standing on the right side of the room, where the window is. "Were the curtains of the window already closed when you all arrived here, Williams?", "Yes, they were", "Okay, so no chance a neighbor might just happen to look into the room at the right chance to identify the killer. Damn curtains."
