3rd Person POV:
Luc stood in his kitchen, drinking his coffee out of his mug. He was tapping his finger on his counter. It was 9 am. The postman already came. Nothing from the Police Department. He still had to wait for the evidence on the case for at least another day. But what now? All the evidence he already has he already completely checked for everything, and didn't get much out of it.
He knew the victim profiles: All were parents, and all the children were reported missing. That's good to know, and will definitely prove helpful in the future, but right now, it doesn't help him very much.
He sighed. He sipped another bit from his coffee again. The last sip, the cup's now empty. He put the empty cup into the sink, and walked into his bedroom again. With a loud thud, he landed on his mattress. Again, he began to rhythmically tap his finger on his mattress, just like on the counter.
Tap, tap, tap, tap, tap
Luc was thinking what to do now. He had no evidence, so work was out of the question. 'Well, first I could maybe shower.', he thought. With effort, he sat upright again, and with another bit of effort, he was standing again. He walked to his closet and opened it. He quickly grabbed just about the first stuff he reached. Comfy stuff, since he didn't need to go to work today, so he didn't need to dress "professionally". He went to his bathroom, put on the light, locked the door, (even though he didn't need to, he still lives alone after all), and undressed himself. He opened the shower door, and went into the shower. He closed the door again.
He turned up the water pressure, and let the warm water hit him. Slowly, it started to run all over him. Then, he grabbed his shampoo and started to massage it into his head. After that was done, he held his head under the water stream again, and let shampoo run out. After that, he grabbed his body shampoo and did the same with it, just with his body instead of his hair this time. After all was done, he stood under the running water for another minute or two, just to enjoy the warmth of the water.
He turned off the water again, and stepped out of the shower. He took his towel, and started to dry himself. Then, he grabbed his clothes - black, slightly oversized sweatpants, and his favorite hoodie, a light green one - and quickly put them on.
He looked in his mirror, and there he once again realized something he already knew, but nonetheless always forgets or ignores. 'God damn, I am a strange person', he thought. And it was true, he was a strange person. Especially with one thing: He is trans. He is male. But despite him being a trans-masc. He still had his long hair. And also, he had his bottom surgery before he had his top surgery for reasons he himself didn't even know anymore.
Luc quickly stepped away from the mirror. He wanted to stop thinking about it, so he did. He went into his kitchen, only to immediately turn around again, go to his front door, grabbing his keys and jacket, and going to his motorcycle. He did not know where he wanted to drive to now, but he will know soon enough.
15 Minutes passed, and Luc was still driving. He just drove where ever his senses told him to. This involved going there, then there, and then back to the beginning. Then, he found himself in front of a coffee-shop named 'Café Timeless by the River', that was only 5 minutes away from his home (if you don't drive 10 unnecessary minutes in circles, that is), he never noticed, despite living so close. He parked his bike in the parking lot, locked it and went inside.
The insides, for one, looked cozy. It had this small, low-budged living room kinda feeling to it, and it kinda had a personal vibe, most likely from the owner, to it. There was no one else in the shop, except Luc. Granted, taken that, it's already past work begin for most normal people.
"Welcome, what can I get you?" The Barista at the counter greeted Luc with. It was a male, around 6,1 Ft. (1,88 M) tall. Long, blond-brown hair. It looked pretty natural, like the most it gets is just a little bit of brushing in the morning so it stays behind his back, and that was all. His eyes were blue, kept behind a pair of glasses, squarish, slightly rounded with a very thin frame. His fingernails were painted, Left hand all blue and right hand all black. He wore a dark blue shirt, blue jeans, and a dark gray apron, with the logo of the coffee-shop printed on it. On the apron was also a name tag, revealing that the Baristas name was "Kioshi Yamikage".
"Just plain black coffee.", Luc answered. "Pff, basic", Kioshi responded, while starting to make the coffee. "Hey, is that how you treat paying costumers?", "You gonna complain?", "N-", "Exactly!". The coffee finished brewing, and Kioshi put it on the counter for Luc to start drinking, "You're not the type of person to complain to any manager if the worker does a little bit of casual swearing, or a little snarky comment. You're young, and not some old, 60-year-old lady named Karen, that expects Robots instead of Humans". "That is a solid point,", Luc responded, "but don't do that with everyone, it's not gonna end well."
While Luc started to sip on the coffee, and burning his tongue again in the process, Kioshi started to respond, "Of course I don't do that with anyone, I'm not stupid. I can generally see who I can be more casual with, or not, and I saw you were the typ'a guy I can be more casual with, so I was more casual. After a while on the job, you start to see who is human, or Karen undercover. Which generally means, looking who is younger than, let's say, 35."
"I take that as a compliment", Luc said, shrugging, while Kioshi only nodded in respond. Then it became silent between the Two, only the subtle music from a local Radio station playing. But despite the expectation of both, the silence was not really awkward. Luc drank his coffee silently, eyeing Kioshi in the process. The mug was empty quite fast, even if Luc burner his tongue not even five minutes ago. He then put the empty mug down.
"Boring job, I take it, isn't it?", "Pardon?", "I said that this is most likely a really boring job during these times, you know, where everyone is working, and no one but a few lost souls like me show themselves?". Kioshi took Luc's empty mug, and turned around, bringing it into the kitchen to later clean, which however, doesn't stop him from talking.
"Ups and downs. While it may be boring, you can't forget that we live in a time where this exists." Kioshi said, pulling out his Phone, "So, instead of being boring, this is more like, paid free time, you know. But only because the owner is really pretty chill about that, to my luck." "Oh, sounds good", Luc respond, "Also, since you already have your magical communication device in your hand, why not give me 'ya number, you look like a good potential friend."
"Smooth, I give you that.", Kioshi said, and laughed lightly, "You know why not, there's only a possible gain from it.", he continued, then put on his number on him phone screen, and let Luc type it on his phone, and after, Luc immediately send him a small 'Test' message, confirming that he correctly typed the number, and after seeing the message go through, saved the number under 'Kioshi the Coffee Guy".
After, Luc waved Kioshi goodbye, who returned it, and then got to his bike again. Putting on his helmet, he made the motor come to live, and started driving again, without a destination, still.
