one. burn

the cool air pushes its way through Aria's bedroom window as her skin grew cooler. her mind is filled with never-ending dreams as she lay in bed, her dreams begin to cloud, they're gone, they burned up, they leave a burnt smell, like a fire is lighting the space around her. Aria's mind goes blank before she wakes up almost instantly.

A strong smoke clouded Aria's mind when she was dreaming. 'am i still dreaming?' she thought.  she slowly gets out of bed as she approaches her bedroom door, twisting the lock, the metal on the door burns her hand slightly but not bad enough to stop her from opening it.

the floor in front of Aria slowly began to get engulfed by infamous flames, smoke clouding the air around me. Aria needs to find scott, her brother, and their mom. the sound of sirens fill the area surrounding her neighborhood, the loud noises are annoying, but seem to calm her down as she knows she will get help and her and her family will be okay.

the fire around aria spreads faster than she could imagine, trying her best to race over to scotts bedroom, his bed empty.

"SCOTT!! SCOTT!!" Aria yells his name, repeating it over and over again.

"ARIA!" his voice is the only things Aria is focused on, she turns her head to the noise, he's near their mothers room.

with the flames scouring up the walls and turning the wood into useless dust, the walls become weaker, as do the wood beneath her feet, she can't get past the burnt obstacles that stand in front of her as she tries to make her way to the other side of the house. the only place she can go is back to her bedroom.

"i can go to my bedroom, climb out my window, and go to the firefighters, i hear them outside, they just arrived." Aria thought to herself, making an escape from the flames that took her whole life. the bedsheets are ripped off of her bed as she ties them into tight knots, then to the leg of her bed frame. she slides the window open as she has a perfect view of the people standing in front of the house. various people scattered on the lawn of the Martinez residence, people with cameras, firefighters, and police.

Aria needs to focus on her goal, she braces myself for her fall, except she wont fall, because of her bedsheets, two firefighters stand below me as she lifts one leg over the window. the fire has gotten into her room, all she can think about are if scott and her mom are safe, the smoke engulfs Aria's lungs, takes control over her body, and everything goes black.

six months later

Aria has been studying forensic psychology and human behaviour in college for the last couple years, today is her first day in her new job at the BAU.

six months ago, Aria lost her family in a fire, a fire that burned and destroyed their home, her entire life. it hasn't been the easiest to move on, especially when Aria spent most time by herself, but she was hoping that this new job would help her take her mind off of things and help her grow.

"wait- hold it!!" Aria says, trying to run to the elevator as fast as she can, hoping to catch someones attention before the doors glide completely shut.

before the shiny metal doors glide shut completely, an arm blocks its path to fasten. Aria reaches the elevator as the doors reverse and begin to open. she enters the elevator, standing next to her, a tall, lengthy boy with brown scruffy hair, a brown shoulder bag and a sweet smile.
