the sound of beeping machines and the smell of hospital filled aria's senses, her vision still black, but her mind, full of her and her safe haven.

"spencer ? what are you doing here ?" aria asks, slowly walking towards the tall boy, his smile making the room brighter than the sun peeking through the window.

they stood together in an open room, book shelves filled with both of their favourite books, and a vinyl player playing fleetwood mac, "silver springs", aria's current favourite song.

"i'm here for you, aria. i'm always here for you, you know that." he says, his hand reaching out for hers, until their skin makes contact, making aria feel more relaxed than music could ever make her.

"where are we ?" aria asks, her hand in his as they slowly swayed to the music, matching each others rhythm.

spencer looks down at aria, her eyes already on his, waiting for an answer. "well, we are in a building, together, dancing, but technically, we're just in your head." he replies, he rests his head in hers, now swaying in a hug.

"but, why are you here ?" aria asks, pulling away slightly, just to make eye contact with spencer before he responds.

"it's your head aria, you want me here." he says, smiling down at her with the dame old sweet smile he always had on his face when he saw her.

the two dance until the song finishes, aria pulling away from spencer a little bit, just enough to see her surroundings and to see spencer.

spencer reid was never one to make a move, aria knew that, everyone knew that, but this was different, none of them were uncomfortable, they thrived off of eachothers presence.

spencer places his hand on aria's chin, lifting her face up to meet his, aria doesn't btoher to move or do anything about it, she wanted more than anything to kiss him, she wasn't afraid to admit that.

their faces got closer together, lips almost touching, their bodies heating eachother up as they got closer together with every second.

but nothing happened, spencer was gone and aria wasn't in her safe haven anymore, she was in a cold hospital room, surrounded by monitors and the smell of medicine and latex.

a familiar figure sat in the chair beside her grey, dense bed. "spencer ?" aria says, her voice grogging after being out for hours.

spencer raises his head from the book sat in front of him, "White Oleander", the same book aria was reading the other week.

"oh, h-hey, aria, how are you feeling ?" he asks, standing up from his chair, making his way closer to her.

"i feel tired, what happened ?" aria asks, she know she got shot, but she doesnt know for how long or what happened to the unsub after he shot her.

"you were shot, in the shoulder, g-good thing you're okay, if you didn't have a vest on and he shot you inches lower, he would've shot you right in the heart." spencer says, his hand holding her cold, shaky hand.

aria zoned out, as much as she didn't mean to, she stared at the wall, not hearing a word spencer said.

"aria ?" spencer says, snapping aria out of her dazing trance.
