delilah slowly made her way down the stairs. It was a saturday morning, 7 o clock and it was way too early to be awake.
"good morning" a cheery yet annoying voice greeted the girl
"brady get out of my house"
xochitl rounded the island with chocolate chip pancakes, delilah's favourite. "lia, you agreed that you'd be nice"
she sighed taking a seat beside her least favourite person "it's too early to be nice"
brady helped himself to some breakfast, scoffing it down before delilah could tell him not to "don't want her to throw you out do you?"
both girls gasped, the youngest placing a hand to her heart "xo wouldnt! i'm her favourite cousin"
"you're my only cousin.."
"my point still stands"
delilah moved in with xotchil over 2 and a half years ago. not many people knew why, her parents had always seemed happy. the problem was deliliah, they had never really wanted her, but with the fame came money and they liked money. they constantly found reasons to be annoyed at their daughter, and were mad when money from jobs went into a savings account instead of to them. multiple times before deiliah had been kicked out, for either talking back or acting up in school, but she was just being a teenager, no one really understood her properly, except xochitl. the two girls had been pretty much attatched at the hip since they were little, they were best friends but more like sisters. delilah loved living with her cousin, her aunt made the best food and her uncle was hilarious. but providing for two children living in la was difficult, so her aunt worked late shifts at the hospital and her uncle was always travelling for work. meaning the girls really only had each other, but made the most of it.
"so why are you here?" delilah asked brady, swiveling around in her chair as she ate. it wasn't unusual for him to be at their house, but generally he wasn't there early in the morning.
"my games today, you and xo promised you'd be there" the boy replied casually helping himself to more food
the girl thought back to around a month ago, remembering it was the big soccer finals "oh that's today.."
"i reminded you last week lia, how do you forget?"
delilah rolled her eyes at xochitl's reprimanding, sometimes she swore she acted more like a mother in her mid 40s then a teenage girl. "because i've had a lot on my mind"
"oo like what" brady asked leaning in, expecting her to announce she'd been dating a guy for the last 2 weeks
she pushed his head away "remember the audition i did awhile back? i haven't heard anything from naomi"
naomi was and had been delilahs agent for several years. she was the best of the best, having worked with many famous actors before the young girl. with every audition naomi sent her to, she always landed a roll, even if it were in the background. it wasn't just because she had a good agent, but also because she was one of the most talented teenage actresses of hollywood.
"you'll be fine deli, you know you'll book it" brady said. it was the first genuine thing he'd said all morning
xochitl wrapped her arms around the young girl and pulled her closer "he's right, you are amazing andd if it makes you feel any better I haven't hear back yet either"
"yeah neither have i"
the two girls slowly turned to face each other, they shared questioning glances before looking back in his direction "you don't even know what we're talking about"
