Y/N sat on a bench, their eyes fixed intently on the blades of their shoes as they sharpened them with a small stone. The quiet atmosphere of the dorm was a stark contrast to the turmoil brewing inside them. The argument with Lanolin still lingered, festering like an open wound.
As they worked, their fox-like mask seemed to absorb the emotions, but the tension was palpable. Their usually reserved demeanor was fraying at the edges, and their fiery temper was simmering just beneath the surface.
The cold air outside seemed to seep into the dorm, but Y/N didn't notice. They were lost in thought, replaying the argument in their mind. Lanolin's increasing bossiness had become a source of frustration for them, and they couldn't help but wonder if it was a sign of something deeper.
As they sharpened the blades, their movements became more deliberate, as if they were trying to channel their emotions into something tangible. The sound of the stone scraping against metal was a soothing balm, but it did little to ease the turmoil brewing within.
Tangle burst into the dorm, her usual energetic demeanor somewhat subdued as she made a beeline for the nearest heating vent. She didn't so much as glance in Y/N's direction, instead focusing on the warmth emanating from the vent as she wrapped her arms around it, letting out a contented sigh.
As she stood there, her bright, cheerful smile seemed forced, a faint attempt to hide the worry and concern that had clearly been weighing on her mind. Her snow glasses, usually perched atop her head, were now firmly in place, giving her a slightly awkward appearance.
Y/N's gaze, still fixed on the blades of their shoes, flicked up to meet Tangle's entrance. They immediately noticed the tension in her usually bouncy gait, and the forced smile that seemed to be straining to reach her eyes. Y/N's eyes narrowed slightly, their expression unreadable as they turned their attention back to the blades, but they couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. "You ok?" They said not looking away from the shoes.
