Post-orgasm sleep was always the deepest sleep you experienced. You rose early the next day, feeling invigorated and energized. You felt excited. You hadn't felt that way since the beginning of your career, when everything was novel and you were still learning. As excited as you were to start training with Kylo, you still had to get through the day working for Hux. You were unsure of what the day would bring since Hux had not given you prior instruction. Eventually you mozied into your work ward. Construction was finished and it looked shiny and new again. You rubbed the back of your neck, trying to fight off the rapid heart rate and sweats that were coming on. For fuck's sake, was that going to happen everytime Kylo thought of you?! You placed your palms on the cool metal of the exam table in front of you, staring down at the reflection of your bruised and battered face. You relaxed and waved your palm across your split lip and bruised nose. You chose only to slightly heal yourself, not wanting Hux to grow suspicious of how quickly your injuries vanished. The split at your lip grew smaller and the dark purple bruise on your nose was now faded. You smiled down at the exam table, admiring your craftsmanship.

A sneeze came from the entrance to your ward, "Admiring your beauty, Doctor?" Hux sucked in a wet breath through his nose. He carried Riley in and placed him on the exam table. "Wow. You're healing quickly." His eyes studied you. You stared back at him, he looked paler than you thought was possible. His blue eyes were a bit sunken in and his lips were feverishly tinged crimson. His voice sounded gravelly.

You cleared your throat, "Armitage, are you feeling alright?"

"Yes, just allergies."

You knew he was lying. He motioned to Riley, "Can we start genetic testing today?"

You nodded, "Of course. Let me get my equipment."

You spent the next several hours conducting testing on Riley while Hux watched on. He was quiet, sniffing and sucking up snot every now and then. As the day progressed Hux eventually began to cough, looking sicker and sicker. He removed and put his coat back on several times, going between shivering and sweating. You offered him a seat that he gladly took. Riley was a doll for all your testing. There was nothing invasive at this time but he had to stay still, which he did like the goodest boy he was. Your eyes shot to Hux everytime he coughed or sneezed. The final straw was when you could hear every time he swallowed. His throat was audibly inflamed and raw. It must have hurt like hell.

You set Riley on the floor of your ward and turned to Hux, staring daggers at him. "Hux, you're sick. You sound like you have the flu."

He gazed back at you through heavy eyelids and slowly replied, "You're right." He could barely speak, he was so hoarse. You held a hand to his forehead and nearly jumped at how hot it was. "And you feel like you have a fever." You grabbed a thermal detector and waved it over him. He indeed had a high fever.

"Armitage, you need to rest. Testing is done for today." You gave him your hand to help him stand but his knees buckled and he collapsed back into his seat. He leaned his head back, "My muscles are extremely sore. I'm so tired." His whole body tremored.

"Give me your holoprojector, I'm calling for a med droid."

"No, please. It's just the flu." He pleaded.

"Fine, Armitage. I will call for a transport droid so you don't have to walk back to your quarters. But you need to call Snoke and tell him you can not report to your post tomorrow."

"But..."

"No buts, man. You are going to feel worse tomorrow since you worked today instead of resting." Hux nodded and handed you his projector, you called for the droid and then dialed Snoke for him. You set the projector in his lap.
