Sleep came fast but so did the morning. You awoke abruptly and sat up. Blinking the sleep from your eyes you realized it was already late in the morning. Your gaze fell onto Kylo, who was still asleep beside you. His chest slowly rising and falling served as tangible evidence that the night before wasn't just a dream. You breathed in deeply, the stench of your escapades hung heavy in the air. You desperately needed a shower.

You quietly exited his bed, got dressed and snuck out of his quarters. Thankfully no one was around when you exited but once you began the trek back to your quarters, it felt like everyone's eyes were on you. You were rounding the corner of your sector when your breath caught in your throat. Hux was standing at the door to your quarters.

He turned to you, his eyes examining you. "Doctor, where have you been!?" He exclaimed. "I went into your ward expecting you to be there and saw it was completely demolished. I got worried. I thought maybe Ren hurt you."

Oh, he "hurt" me alright, you thought to yourself. Thankfully Hux couldn't read your mind. "Oh um, I was in the dining hall. The mess in my ward is from a few days ago, before the West Wing was destroyed."

Hux raised an eyebrow. "In the dining hall? I gave you orders to stay in your sector. Why didn't you tell me that Ren destroyed your ward?!" Hux's eyes continued to frantically roam over your body. They bulged with each rotation in their socket and his jaw audibly clicked.

You pushed past him, "I didn't have a chance to tell you after the incident with Riley. It was all a blur. I'm sorry I disobeyed your orders. I just needed social interaction. It's a big request to ask me to work down here by myself."

Hux's eyes softened. "You are forgiven. But please, refrain from roaming the base. Ren has been prying into your assignment and the last thing we need is for him to scare you off."

You smirked and laughed unintentionally; yeah he was "scaring you off" alright. More like getting you off.

"What's so funny?" Hux's tone became serious.

"Nothing, it was a nervous laugh."

Hux sighed, "I guess we should get a repair team down here to fix your ward. I'll have them start construction and send new equipment and droids down. Since you technically can't work until your ward is repaired, feel free to take today off as well." Hux turned to leave but you stopped him.

"Hux, I've been thinking, you haven't told me anything about my assignment since I got here. Can we discuss that some time today?"

He gave you side eye. "We can... I'll come by later this evening. I—" Huxs holoprojector buzzed. It was Snoke.

Hux reluctantly opened up the projector, setting it to audio transmission only. Snoke's voice pierced through the air of awkwardness that fell upon you and Hux. "Hux!!! Tell me, where are you and Ren? Because neither of you are at the Command Center."

Hux froze, "What do you mean Ren isn't at the Command center? I'm working on important—"

Snoke interrupted. "Nonsense! I know you're running around with that Veterinarian girl you hired behind my back."

Hux quickly shut the projector. "I must go now." He whispered and began running down the hall.

Shit, Kylo was late to work. Your night together seriously drained him. You shook your head, Kylo was also right. Snoke didn't have a clue as to why you were on base. If Snoke didn't know, then what were you truly here for? You contemplated the thought while keying into your quarters, the shower calling your name. Not even scalding hot water could wash away how deeply you connected with Kylo last night. Oh well, at least for once you didn't need a cold shower to quell your burning desires. Kylo Ren had taken care of that for you.
