I woke up, my hair was messy and damp.

"Did you shower last night? You just disappeared." Lola told me. I tugged on my sleeve and looked down to find out I was wearing Cardan's hoody.

"Come on kids everyone in the mini van we're going to see Cardan's game." Leah, Ky's mom announced. "We'll grab some food on the way."

We rushed to the car, all four of us giggling. When we got to the car there were a bunch of maid dragging out big bags that took almost all the space in the car.

Eva popped out of the house big grin on her face and arm locked in Cardan's.

"Good morning family." Eva shouted and kissed Ky's mom's check, she jumped in surprise.

I felt strong hands around my body lifting me from behind. "Big bro." Alex spat jumping on the tall figure still lifting me in the air.

When he finally let me down i turned around and Miles, Alex's older brother hugged both me and Alex in one big hug.

Tar behind him. I went to hug my brother who just found it as an excuse to shuffle my hair. I smiled big. I may have nothing left in this world but I have him. It's just us against the world.

"Ella, I called your mom and she sent your brothers over." Leah, Ky's mom exclaimed. I felt my brother tense up.

Before I could talk, Eva spat out. "She's an orphan, she doesn't have parents." She laughs.

My checks flare with red, a bright red of anger. I've never wanted to punch anyone in my life but god would I love to smack that smirk right of her face.

Cardan snickers at his girlfriends words.

I decide to speak up for once I couldn't just watch anymore. "Tar is my brother and I don't care weather or not we have parents but he has been there ever since. Alex and Miles are our best friends, we grew up with. So wipe that tiny smirk off your face and shut up."

I loved it, I loved the feeling of power. I've never experienced this but now that I have I wonder if I've missed out my entire life. A shiver went down my spine. The power, the meanness got me exited.

Everyone got in the car, I sat on the window seat, in the middle Miles sat wearing a red spider man hoodie and a pair of jeans, on the other side my brother side wearing a nike hoodie and sweet-pants. Behind us Cardan, Eva and Ky sat and at the back Alex and Lola talked about non other than boys.

When we got to the coffee shop Eva went in. "So how was Lisbon?" I asked Miles.

Miles looked at me with a big smile, dimples carved his cheeks. "Foi fantástico." He answered.

I looked at him frowning. He just laughed. "It means it was fantastic."

Cardan laughed one of his mocking laughs. I just rolled my eyes at him. When Eva came back she had 9 cups of coffee. As I did my math I realized there isn't one for me.

She handed out cups of coffee. "Here Leah." She said handing miss Thornfield a cup in the drivers seat.

When she came to the last cup she took it and gave me the cartons that contained the cups.

"Wait here I'm going to get a cup of coffee." Before I could get out of the van Miles grabbed my arm. "We can share mine." I smiled and him and closed the door.

When we got there we sat front row of the football stadium. Soon Cardan came out on the field with the rest of his teem. I recognized the number 28 on his jersey, the same one from the hoodie.

After the match I waited for Cardan outside the stadium. Tar, Miles, Alex, Lola and Ky wandered off somewhere.

When I finally saw him his arm was wrapped around his teammates after their big win.

They walked over to me with the black paint smeared over their cheeks, some had holes in their soccer socks and some had bandages.

"Well, well well." One of the blonde guys said. "Who is this?"

"No one." Cardan shrugged.

I scoff. "She has an attitude." Another says. "Maybe you shouldn't treat your elders like that." He grabbed my hair.

I looked over to Cardan because even if we dont know each other well he shouldn't be letting this happen.

"Your doing this without me?" I heard a drunk voice call out. Eva.

One of the guys slapped me and the other knocked me down. They were laughing. I felt a cold liquid rush down my back and when I looked up Eva had poured her drink on me.

I was tired. Tired of being laughed at. Tired of being manipulated bullied. Tired of being step on. The next thing I did was out of my control.

I got up and punched on of the guys that knocked me on the face. I watched Tar punch enough that I had the whole technique memorized.

The rest of them gave me blank stares, surprised of what I just did.

But I was deep in power in hatred. The boy punched me back before I could continue my train of thoughts. When I got up from the floor Cardan and his minions disappeared instead Tar, Miles, Alex, Lola and Ky were around me. My nose bleed to my mouth, I tasted the blood in my mouth and couldn't help but smile. They looked at me shocked. This isn't me. Come on Ella wake up.

"Who did this to you." My brother was gripping my arms and shaking me. "Damn it Ella who did this to you."

Behind him Cardan and Eva are staring at me, like they could hear our conversation or see right through me.

"No one I did this to myself." I stammer still looking at Cardan straight in the eyes a smirk growing on my face blood still spilling. "I fell." I finally look at my brother.

He lets go of me and sighs. "You've gotta be careful Ellie." When he turns his back and leaves I follow him.

"Why are you doing this Ella?" Miles asked.

"Doing what?" I asked but my voice let me down, it was wobbly.

"Protecting whoever did this to you. You may fool Tar but you can't fool me." He said whispering in my ear, I felt his breath on my neck and before I could blush I walked away.

Kyle was standing on the side on the road, he was on the phone probably with an Uber.

A black motorcycle pulled up near us. It was a man and a woman wearing black helmets and when they took the helmets off it was non other than Cardan and Eva.

When I meat their gaze, Eva was smiling at the blood all over my mouth, nose and even some on my shirt.  Cardan looked surprisingly worried, I was probably reading his face wrong because Cardan's the one who did this to me, well at least he stood by it.

"Cardan what are you doing mom's coming to pick us up." Ky said.

"We don't care, right Cardy?" She waved her golden hair in the wind and put her helmet back on.

When Leah finally arrived we all got in the car.

When we got home Cardan and Eva were already sitting on the table. On the table a feast was waiting, all the foods were set on it and non alcoholic champagne bottles were set down.

I walked to the bathroom to wash my face still bloody. When I looked in the mirror a tall body was behind me. Cardan starred at me.

I tried walking past him but he grabbed my arm and pulled me back. His gaze went to my right eye.

"It's bruising." He told me hovering his hand around my eye.

I slapped his hand, my knuckles still sore from punching that guy. "Your teammate should have though about it first."

He took a step closer to me, I wanted to step back but I didn't.

"You really do have an attitude." I was angry against him and Eva.

"Yeah?" I asked pouting. "Well you've got terrible teammates Cardy." I said mockingly trying to sound just like Eva.

"Oh I do don't I?" He was mocking me. We were starring at each other. Instead of continuing this already dead conversation I walked out this time he didn't stop me.
