Heart of spades

Chapter 3

I was embarrassed, the fight got all over the school news and my name was tagged in all the videos students took.

I put my science books in my bag and I put one of my AirPods in my ears so I could still hear. I was headed to Kyle and Lola's house, I'm surprised they still wanna work with me after today.

"Could I have dinner to go?" I asked, my stomach was growling. "Oh, come on your not still giving me the silent treatment, I said I'm sorry."

I scoffed and grabbed a banana, it'll have to do. I got on the bus and stopped at the last stop. After some walking I saw a huge house isolated from every other house . The garden was huge.

I knocked on the door, a tall blond young adult opened the door. "How may I help you?"

"Umm, I-I'm here to work with Kyle and Lola." I told him.

He smiled. "Oh you must be Ella, I'm Rain." He cleared the passage. "KYLE, LOLA its for you."

Soon Kyle and Lola came running down the stairs. Lola hugged me and I hugged her back.

"You still wanna work with me after today?" I asked expecting a bad answer.

Lola smiled. "Are you kidding me of course we do." She threw her arm around me. "Believe it or not I'm usually shy but your different Ella, I like you."

I smiled so big. "I like you too."

"Arhhhh, can this get any worst?" Kyle said sticking out his tongue as if he was going to puke.

From the corner of my eyes Cardan was coming down the stairs. Kyle and Lola must have seen me look at him because they giggled.

"Here's your partner in crime." Kyle pointed at Cardan who stopped and looked at me.

"If mom asks I'm outside in the pool." Cardan told them.

He brushed past me, eyes on me. I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see a young boy with brown hair and hazel eyes stare at me.

"Hi, I'm Kaï, Kaï Thornfield. I'm 15." He offered his hand and I shook it.

"Ella, Ella Gee." I said with a smile.

We started working and our presentation was halfway done. I got to know Lola and Kyle better by the day.

I came back daily so we could hopefully finish this task on time.

On day 5 Kyle told me I could call him Ky, only his family and his old best friend call him that. Despite only spending 6 days together we were inseparable. I introduced Alex to them and they loved her. We're now the group of 4.

"Don't forget your toothbrushes." Maxine told us. We were having a sleep over with Lola and Ky, of course Kyle will sleep in a different room.

"I've got everything lets go Ella." Alex whined as she grabbed my arm dragging me out the door.

When we got to the house we got into our pyjamas then Kyle and Lola blindfolded us and led us into a room before removing our blindfolds. It was a big Cinema room with a huge projector, popcorn maker and all the sweets you could eat and rows of 3 chairs, not any chairs, big confortable couches like at the VIP cinema.

"Wh- What? How? When?" Alex said looking around.

In the middle of the second row Cardan was sitting with popcorn in his hands.

"Cardannn." Lola whined. "I thought we kicked you out."

"Well, It's not your Cinema room. Im happy to let you choose the movie." He said offering a big fake smile.
