I barely had time to leap back. Glory had pounced at me, and I was distracted by Rague throwing Natalie to who-knows-where. I didn't get far enough back. I was now pinned to the floor. I got my dagger out.
She lost her focus on the dark water circling Rague, apparently having more interest in killing me. As Glory had me pinned to the floor, she dug her long dagger dug into my side. I slashed mine down her face. I hoped desperately that she wasn't in her BloodMage, or VenomMage form. She was a HellMage, which meant she could change into any Mage she wanted. She just didn't have as much energy as most.
Again she lost her focus. With barely enough time, Rague jumped on top of her. He had a deadly looking sword now. With how angry he looked, I knew he was ready to completely destroy Glory.
Rague was now in his true demon form, I saw, as he threw Glory off of me.
Using the wall as a support, I struggled to my feet. Rague and Glory were wrestling on the floor, both angry, both wanting to kill the other.
I didn't care about the large stab in my side. I didn't care about anything. I needed to help Rague.
I still had the one arrow in my crossbow ready. Putting my dagger away, I picked my crossbow up off the floor.
Well, this was irritating. I couldn't get a clear shot of Glory, and the last thing I needed right now, was to hit Rague like I did to Natalie!
Unsure what to do, I waited for one of them to pin the other.
Glory was screeching by now, trying to get the attention of some more Mages. They certainly wouldn't be too far away.
Rague finally pinned her. I got my crossbow ready again. This was Glory's chance as well, she could easily stab him in the side, or the stomach.
She was too late. I looked away, when Rague bit down on her neck. There was a whole lot of shrieking. I didn't want to watch how vicious this probably was...
Something sounded like it shattered. I slowly looked up again.
There Rague was, standing over Glory, who was now lying, possibly dead, on the floor. Stunned, I watched him in silence. He kicked her one more time, before walking over to me.
"Okay then..." I said slowly. I tried to get the image out of my head. That just wasn't right...
Rague looked like he realized something, and finally spoke. "Sorry. That's... Sort of a demon thing."
Footsteps getting closer.
"Demon thing or not, we need to go, now!"
He didn't move yet. He apparently wanted to explain. "She's not dead. But it'll take quite a while for her soul to recollect. She won't be up again, not until then. But, yeah. This isn't as important as our escape."
I was about to teleport, but stopped. "Wait, do you need me to teleport you? Or do you have a way out?"
He backed up, almost into a pool of water. "Um. No. I'll get myself out of here, using the shadows. Meet you at wherever Natalie ended up."
I nodded, before disappearing.
I appeared near wherever Natalie was, and failed to stay on my feet, landing on my side. I let out an irritated groan, and sat up.
Natalie had heard me. "Leave me alone..."
Before responding, I checked to make sure I still had my crossbow. I recognized its ice blue shape in the darkness, and then made sure I had my dagger. My dagger was the less important weapon of the two. I don't know what I would do, if I didn't have my crossbow, and got into a fight... Both were still there. I looked over at Natalie.
"I'm sorry..."
