STELLA COULDN'T LIE, SHE was so far beyond salty. She was full on stepping over into bitter territory. And it was all because a certain aussie F1 driver seemed to not want her at his races — for whatever goddamn reason!

She really couldn't figure it out. Also, what was even the point of having F1 friends if she couldn't go to races? Not that she wasn't friends with them for other reasons — namely, the fact that they had been friends for over a decade. But still. It felt unfair.

Not only had Stella missed the Monaco Grand Prix (her certified favorite race), she had also missed the Spanish Grand Prix, which had taken place the weekend after. Sure, maybe it was good for her ballet, to not be traveling so much, but Stella didn't care.

She was as bitter as that ninety-eight percent cacao dark chocolate that Oscar liked to eat (he said it was healthy. In Stella's opinion, health couldn't possibly be worth eating something so bitter).

Sure, Stella probably could've pulled up to the races anyways, hung out in Logan's garage, or even Lewis' or Fernando's, they adored her. But no matter how bitter Stella might have been, there was one thing she would never do. Step over someone's boundaries. Oscar didn't want her there — that had been clear enough from that phone call — so she wouldn't be there.

Even if she didn't understand why.

Sometimes she thought she understood Oscar Piastri better than she understood anyone, but sometimes — times such as now — he was a complete enigma. A mystery.

And the biggest mystery of all? What he was doing to her. She didn't understand it one bit.

For all her denials with her dad, it was undeniable. Stella's feelings for Oscar had changed, completely changed. That feeling in her gut whenever she saw him, it wasn't exactly a friendly one. It was like the feeling she had gotten at ten years old when she'd looked at pictures of Niall Horan, only a million times stronger. If Oscar could make her feel more than Niall Horan, well, that was something she couldn't ignore.
