"Wait. So, she has two godly parents? How is she a demigod, then?" Annabeth Chase asked Chiron. Bianca's parents' friends, the Seven had arrived the next day, and they were VERY confused. The Seven had saved the world from Gaea, the Earth, two decades ago. So Chiron decided they should know about me.
"Eris had merged with Persephone and, er did "It" with Melanie's father. By then, Melanie had gained the blood of the goddesses, and here she is now." Chiron explained.
"Okay. I don't know how I feel about that. What are your powers?" Percy Jackson asked.
"I don't know! I can drive people insane! And I can do this thing where I melt into shadows and end up somewhere else." I said, exasperated.
"Shadow travel." Piper Mclean breathed. "And wait, hold up, you can drive people insane?"
"She can control the minds of people. We think it's a side effect of the double goddess mishap." Chiron said.
"So basically, she can charmspeak." Leo Valdez said.
"No, Leo! Charmspeak is just enticing people. Melanie can literally take over someone's willpower. This isn't any charmspeak!" Piper exclaimed. Then she turned to me. "Melanie, we need to know the extent of this. Command me to do something. I have an extremely powerful willpower."
I hesitated, but then I poured all my power into one word and thrust it out.
"Fight."
Immediately, Piper pulled out a dagger and started sparring with Annabeth.
"Stop!" I said, scared. Piper stared at my blankly but then went back to trying to kill her friend. This HAD to stop. I tried again.
"Stop." I ordered.
Then, Piper lowered her dagger. She looked back to me, fear evident in her eyes. "H-how? I couldn't even fight it! It came over me in a wave, and I didn't even have any time. I wasn't aware of what was happening."
" I'm sorry." I apologized.
"Hey, it's not your fault. You didn't ask for this." Hazel Levesque told me gently. Piper nodded.
"Yeah! But what about any other powers? I can help you with shadow travel, but we need to be sure if you have any more." Nico said.
"Whenever I feel positive emotions, everything around me starts blooming, but when I get negative emotions, everything wilts and starts dying." I told him.
"Well, that sounds like it's from Persephone. Will and I might be able to help with that. How about Eris?" He asked me.
"Um, sometimes, I feel this need to cause chaos and bad stuff, and if I embrace that feeling, everything goes wrong. Once, I was at a party, and I had that feeling. I was only 8, so I decided to embrace it, and then everything started falling over, and fights broke out. And I was in the middle of it all." I said miserably.
"That's from Eris, for sure!" Leo exclaimed.
"Yeah, probably." I agreed.
"Okay, Chiron, I think we gotta run. We'll see you later, kid." Percy said. Then they walked out of the Big House. Chiron turned to me.
"Melanie, you need to learn how to control your feelings. And I think the counsellor of the Hades cabin might be able to help with that."
So here I am, knocking on the door of the Hades cabin. A tall boy with dirty blonde hair and bright blue eyes opened the door."Um, hi. I'm looking for the counsellor." I said.
"Well, you're looking at him."
"Oh!" I exclaimed in surprise. "I'm so sorry, I-"
"I know I don't look the part. But I am a legacy of Apollo, soooo.." He explained. "I'm Noah Miller. You?"
"Melanie Morales."
"Oh, you're the double goddess girl."
"Wow. That made me feel sooooo much better, you know?" I replied sarcastically.
"Sorry. But to be honest, we think you're pretty cool. I don't know about the rest of camp though. But the Hades cabin has your back. Come in!" Noah ushered me in.
The Hades cabin wasn't so dark as it looked though. There were about 15 teens scattered across the perimeter of the cabin. There were posters of rock bands, pop stars, lgbtq+ flags, and all kinds of random things on the walls. And most of the kids in the cabin didn't really look emo, or fit the aesthetic of the exterior of the cabin.
"Okay guys! Guess who this is! It's Melanie!!" Noah announced. Then the applause broke out, and I could hear that people were whooping.
"Ooooooh! She's pretty!" Some random girl yelled.
"Okay Mimi, we can't go hitting on every good looking person." Noah grinned.
"So. What are your powers?" A short girl with dark hair and brown eyes asked. Once again, I recited my list of DISCOVERED powers. While I spoke, everyone was silent, listening in awe. Then, when I finished, the applause broke out once again.
"Why does everyone love me so much?" I leaned over to Noah and whispered.
"We've been outcasts for decades. It's nice to know that we can help someone who's going through the same thing." He replied. Then he asked why I had come anyway.
"Chiron told me I need to work on keeping my emotions and powers seperate, so he told me to come to you, because you apparently had experience." Noah nodded.
"Meet me in front of Thalia's pine tomorrow after breakfast."
So. What do you guys think of Noah?
