My husband, Michael, and I were sat on a bench at the park near our little cottage home. The sun was beginning to set, and we both sat there, staring up at the beautiful sky, which was now mixing colors of orange, pink, and purple. He held me close to him, my head resting on his shoulder. We sat there, enjoying the moment of being in one another's arms, and wished for the moment to never end.

"Michael?" I asked as we continued to watch the sunset.

"Hm?" He hummed softly, still focused on the beauty of the sky.

"I love you." I said, looking up at him. His lips formed a smile as he looked down at me and kissed my forehead, then looking into my eyes with a beautiful smile on his face.

"I love you too, my angel. I certainly was born to love you." He held onto me tighter as I leaned my head down on his chest, feeling love for him, as I always had. We both looked up at the sky again, then, he started to hum a tune to himself. It first started off wordless, then he started to softly sing to himself.
"Born to love you, born to love you. Born to share your smiles and tears. Born to be near you if you need me, dear. Born to love you till I die." He sang softly. I looked up at him and smiled.

"That sounds beautiful, Michael." I told him.
He smiled and held me closer, leaning his head on top of mine. I looked around the beautiful scenery in front of us. The grass was a nice shade of green, the trees were blossomed and green, the flowers were bloomed, and this was a nice, spring day without any rain. Michael and I had been outside nearly all day, enjoying the weather, as we were expecting rain again soon. Soon, he began to sing again.

"My life was empty, so blue and forlorn. And then you put your hand in mine and I knew why I was born." He sang the first verse, as the first lines were the chorus.
These lines made my heart swell with love for him. Knowing that these words were for me and about me made me feel so, so happy.
He sang the chorus and the verse over again. I smiled at him the entire time. As soon as he was finished, he took his notepad and pen out of his pocket and wrote the lyrics down. I watched him closely as he wrote.
The top of the paper read "BORN TO LOVE YOU. WRITTEN BY R. MICHAEL NESMITH ON MARCH 24TH, 1972."
I smiled as he placed the notepad and pen back in his pocket. He looked at me and saw that I was staring at him. He chuckled softly.
"What?" He asked with a laugh as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder again.

"That sounded amazing, Michael." I said, kissing his cheek. He chuckled softly and looked back at the sky, which by now was almost pitch black.

"Thank you, angel. Want to hear home now?"

"Sure. And, what are you planning on doing with that song? I think it earns a spot on your next album." I asked him as we both stood up from the park bench and started walking home.

"That's a good idea. Since my new album isn't with the band, (A/N: meaning The First National Band) I don't have to ask anyone about what songs go on which album." He placed his arm around my waist as we continued walking.

"I really like that song, Mike." I told him again.

"Thank you, darling. I love you."

"I love you too, Mike."

A/N: Yes, I know Mike didn't write this song so sorry for the inaccuracy😐
