I stood in the airport, waiting for my boyfriend Mike to return from his tour with The Monkees. He had been on tour for over a year. Crazy, I know. I missed him like crazy, and was becoming impatient as I stood in the crowd of people. I watched the door that Mike was supposed to walk through at approximately 3 PM, which now it was 2:25. Great, still so much time. I could not believe I was about to see him, this year has been the longest in my entire life.

Mike's POV:

The plane gets closer every minute I look down to a watch that keeps looking back at me. It says to me "be patient, son. You've waited this long." How can I be strong?

I continued to check my watch every minute. Davy noticed this and gave me a concerned look.
"Relax, man. You're gonna see her soon enough. The plane lands in 15 minutes." He reassured me. I waited at least a year for this day, and I could not wait to run into her arms. I looked out the window and saw that the plane was getting closer and closer to the ground, so I smiled to myself, knowing that it would only be minutes before I saw her. My girl.
The plane landed safely, anticipation building up inside me. I rushed to get off of the plane, as I could not wait any longer. We walked off of the plane, all four of us rushing to meet with our girlfriends. No one was more excited than I. I could not wait to see the love of my life.
I looked into the ground and there she stood. And the gap that once was time was forever closed behind. I told you I'd come back, and here I am.

End POV:

As the door opened and I saw Michael walking out, looking frantically through the crowd, I broke into tears as I was overjoyed to finally see him after all this time.

"Michael!" I yelled, causing him to look in my direction. I waved to him with a huge smile on my face before he ran over to me as fast as he possibly could. I opened my arms, which he gladly ran into. I squeezed him into the tightest hug, my tears falling onto his shoulder. I heard him crying, as well, something I had never seen or heard him do before, in our 4 years of dating. We stayed there in a tight embrace for what it seemed like many minutes before he pulled away and looked into my eyes. He placed his hands on my cheeks, wiping my tears before he gave me the most passionate kiss he ever gave me. We stayed there for a moment before he pulled away and looked at me, tears still falling from his eyes.

"Oh, Michael. I have missed you so, so much." I said, holding back my tears.

"Me too, Y/N. Believe me. Let's go to baggage claim, okay? We'll go home after."
I nodded and we walked hand in hand to baggage claim. We stood in front of where the bags came out, and he turned to me.

"So what have you been up to lately? Do anything fun while I was gone?"

"Honestly, not much. I stayed home most of the time and watched films and stuff, but I have been so lonely lately so, yeah, y'know."
He frowned and nodded, turning back to the baggage claim, looking out for his suitcases.

"How was tour?" I asked as he grabbed his first bag, waiting for the second to come out.

"It was somewhat fun, but boring and stressful. I might have to get my ears examined since the screaming was so bad at those concerts. But on top of that, I wasn't with you. I missed you so much, angel." He smiled, then looked over my shoulder to see Micky and his girlfriend, soon to be wife, Samantha Juste.
"Hey, Mick! Sam! Over here!" Mike called out, gesturing them to come closer.
They both smiled and walked over to us. Micky smiled when he saw me, pulling me into a tight hug.

"Nice to see you again, Y/N! How are you?" He asked as he pulled back.

"Nice to see you, as well. I'm great, how are you?"

"Never been better." He smiled at Samantha, wrapping his arm around her shoulder. She smiled at me and I smiled back.

Then, I saw Davy with his girlfriend, Linda Haines. They also came over to us, talking about tour and how everything was going. Finally came along Peter and girlfriend Leah Hunkel.
We all continued to talk for about a half hour before Michael said that he was tired and wanted to go home. I agreed.
We said our goodbyes to the boys and their girlfriends before walking outside and out to my car.
We both walked slowly, holding onto each other tightly. I leaned my head onto his shoulder, breathing in the scent of his cologne, which I missed so much. We soon made it to the car and I drove him home, as he was absolutely exhausted. About halfway home, I looked over at him and noticed he was asleep. I continued driving, thinking to myself how a man so perfect could ever belong to me.
I pulled into the driveway of our home, lightly shaking his shoulder to wake him up.

"Mike? We're home now." I told him as he opened his eyes. I got out of the car and went over to the other side, holding his hand as we entered our house. He sighed in relief as we entered, the smell causing relief and happiness within him. I watched him and smiled.

"I'm gonna get ready for bed, angel. We'll spend all day together tomorrow, alright?"
I nodded as he opened his suitcase, taking out a pair of pajamas, then went into the bathroom to change. I set his suitcase on the floor, expecting us to put his things away the following day.
A few minutes later, Mike came out of the bathroom and came to bed with me, placing a sweet kiss on my lips.
"I am so happy to be here with you. I love you."

"I love you too, Mike." I smiled as he turned out the light.

"Goodnight, princess. See you in the morning."
