It was around 4:45 AM when I woke up. It was really early and Mike was still asleep, but I was no longer tired so I decided to get up. I had gone to bed at only 7 PM the night before because of the long day out Mike and I had. I got up and went into the bathroom in the hotel we were staying at. The Monkees' tour had just ended and Mike and I wanted some time alone, so he decided to take me to his hometown of Dallas, Texas (A/N: yes, I know Mike was born in Houston but he grew up in Dallas.) where we were staying at a nice hotel. It wasn't one of those stuffy motels, it was a fancy and expensive hotel that was amazing. Mike used the money he earned from the show and the tours to pay, but I still insisted to help him pay since we were staying there for over a week.
I brushed my teeth and hair and got dressed before going back into the main room. Mike was still sound asleep, as now it was still only 5 AM. I opened the curtains slightly, not wanting the light to wake Mike up. I looked out the window and saw the beautiful view ahead of me. There was a blue lake with fish and swans and other types of animals. The flowers were blooming as spring was here. The rain was luckily gone. I had to go outside and enjoy the weather this beautiful morning. So, I left a note next to Mike telling him I had gone outside for the morning. After I placed the note next to him, I went downstairs and then outside. First, I took out my camera, since I had brought it out with me, and took some pictures of the sky and the swans. After, I decided to mess around with the swan that was now on the green grass. I knelt down and looked at it, trying not to get so close because I knew that it would most likely attack me.

"Y/N?" I heard a voice say behind me. I stood up and turned around, seeing Mike standing there. He was still in his pajamas and his hair was a mess. He rubbed his eyes, making it seem as if he had just woken up, which was true.

"Hi, Mike. I was just coming out here to enjoy the weather. Sorry it's so early." I said.

"It's okay, but can we come out a little later? The breakfast bar just opened and I'm so hungry I could eat a horse." He said with a chuckle.

"Of course, let's go." We both went back into the hotel and went to where the were serving breakfast.
I got some pancakes and Mike got some grilled cheese. We then both sat down at a small table near the back of the seating area so he could avoided being seen by any fans. Unfortunately, this didn't work. About four young girls came over and asked him for his autograph just as we had sat down. Surprisingly, they weren't to demanding and they were nice to the both of us. Mike kindly gave them his autograph before they all left, not bothering us the rest of the day.

"Sorry 'bout that." He said, taking a sip from his coffee.

"It's okay; they seemed nice." I poured the maple syrup on my pancakes.
We both are our breakfast and then went back up to the hotel room so Mike could get dressed. By now, it was still only 6:30 AM. I waited in the main room while Mike got ready in the bathroom; I was staring out the window again, looking at the beautiful blue lake ahead. Soon enough, Mike was ready and he walked towards me. I turned around and smiled at him. He was wearing a green button up shirt and his usual gray pants.

"Have I told you how beautiful you look today?" Mike said, pulling me towards him.

"No, but you tell me all the time."

"Well, you look beautiful this fine, Texas morning, Y/N." He kissed me passionately, then pulled away and we started leaving to go outside.

We soon got outside, the speed of the wind picking up. There was a bench near the lake, so Mike went and sat down. I was too busy looking at the flowers to notice he was gone.

"Mike, aren't these flowers pretty?" I asked, but there was no answer. "Mike?" I then noticed that he was sitting on the bench on the opposite side of where the lake was. I picked one of the flowers out of the ground and walked over to Mike, who was staring at the swan. The swan was also staring back at him, neither of them moving.

"Mike, I brought you something-"

"Hold it, Y/N. I'm afraid of I make the slightest movement, that swan will attack me." He cut me off, slowly placing his hand behind his back. Mike and the swan continued their so called staring contest, until the swan suddenly noticed I was there. I went to sit down next to Mike, but then the swan came charging towards us.

"Get away!" Mike yelled as he tried to get the swan away from us. I was scared and I hid behind him as he pulled the sign that read "no fishing" out of the ground and started swatting it at the swan. After Mike hit it the head, not too rough, many times, the swan finally went back into the lake and left us alone.
"Sorry, Y/N." Mike said, putting the sign back into the ground. "That stupid swan."

"As pretty as they are, they are pretty dangerous." I said, earning a chuckle from Mike.

"You got that right," he looked back at the swan, then back at me, "now, what is it you wanted to show me?"

"Oh, right." I held onto his hand and led him to where the flowers were. He knelt down and examined all the different types of flowers.

"Wow, these are really cool." He said. I smiled as I watched him look at the flowers until I sat on the ground next to him.

"Here," I said, holding my hand out which was holding the flower I had picked for him. He stopped looking at the flowers and looked at the one I was holding. He smiled and took it from me.

"Thank you, darlin'. Here's one for you, too." He put the flower behind his ear and gave another to me, which he put in my hair. We both smiled at each other and looked at the flowers.
"I love you." He said as he placed his arm around me.

"I love you too, Mike." I answered, putting my head on his shoulder.

A/N: I am sooo sorry I haven't written lately, I have been really busy with school and I had a big test today so that's why I haven't been active. Hopefully I'll get some more stories up soon but I can't promise anything. Peace and love! ✌🏻🤎
