The days had passed, and Shun felt as if the past seven years had been swept away with a mere gesture, so natural did it seem to converse with Luc. They talked, laughed, and teased each other as they always had. At first, there were times when the redhead felt awkward when the blond was too close, memories of their separation coming back to him, but he had grown accustomed to this bright and sparkling presence in his daily life. It must be said that Luc did everything to ensure they spent time together as before and regained their former closeness. Not once did he mention the kiss or their argument. Not once did he make Shun feel that he held any resentment for being coldly rejected.

"What are you thinking about sitting there staring into space?" someone asked from behind, interrupting his thoughts.

"Nothing in particular, just thinking it's strangely quiet today," Shun replied.

"It's true, we don't have many visitors at the moment," noted Lucien, sitting beside him on the bench.

"And all the animals seem to be in top form. So, I'm free until further notice."

"How about we take a tour of the zoo like we used to when we were kids? It'll keep us busy until our respective duties call us back," suggested Luc.

"Why not? Besides, it's been a long time since I enjoyed a good stroll in the zoo without having to take care of injured animals."

"Then let's go!" Luc enthused, pulling Shun along to hurry.

The blond didn't waste a second and led them to the nearest enclosure. Shun noticed that his beautiful brown eyes sparkled like those of a child with a lollipop. And his smile could have outshone the sun it was so bright.

He froze in his observation. What had he just thought exactly? Here he was, starting to think of his best friend again like a girl with a crush. He really needed to stop with that. Especially since Luc seemed to have moved on and clearly didn't expect anything from him anymore.

"Shun, hurry up, or we won't have time to see everything," the object of his thoughts urged him.

"I'm coming, don't worry."

With these words, the redhead followed him throughout the zoo, sometimes marveling at his enthusiasm and good mood despite himself.
