She began her new life standing up, surrounded by cold darkness and stale, dusty air.
A shrieking sound of metal against metal was heard, as shrill as a coldblooded scream. The ground was lurching as it ascended to a higher place, an unknown place. She tried to walk around, only to fall down and hit the floor. Her hands were cold, sweat was dripping from her temple, where was she? Her mind was spinning as the the room she was in didn't stop moving, it only rose faster and faster.
She tried to talk but her vpice was hoarsh and didn't sound like it was supposed to. Help, she tried but to no succes. As the room went it's way, lights flickered from the walls outside of the room. The girl didn't know what to do, infact, she didn't know anything. Her mind was empty, every memory she should've had was gone, it felt incomplete. She tried to recall anything from before she woke up but nothing came to mind. Well, maybe one thing did.
Y/n. My name is Y/n. That was the only thing that she could remember. The metal cage was dark, she could make up some crates lined up at the walls when the lights would flash. She was scared, scared that she would be trapped in here forever, scared for what would happen if she reached the top, if there even was one. She wanted to stand up again, but decided against it and made her way to one of the walls. Then suddenly, the shrieking sound of the metal came to a halt. It felt like ages before commotion was heard from above Y/n. Light footsteps stept on top of the room.
Light entered the room. From having been in a dark place for so long, her eyes hurt trying to adjust to the new opacity. Once they finally did, Y/n could make out two figures above her, standing there at the edge, looking at her. The two were talking but nothing came through her ears. When she focused more and more on the people above her she saw two guys, well, boys around the age of 16. One had a dark skintone and no hair on his scalp, while the other was rather pale with dirty blonde hair that reminded her of a birds nest. Good first impression I suppose.
The dark-skinned boy extended his hand for Y/n to take. She then finally saw with what she was accompanied whilst being in the box. A bunch of wooden crates stood allong the metal walls, some were hidden with a blanket, some were broken and ragged down. What could possibly be in those boxes? Looking up she was met with the dark-skinned boy still sticking his hand out, feeling a bit awkward about having to wait for her to take his hand. So she stood up, tried not to fall back down, and took his hand while once again ascending to an unknown place above.
Her feet met the solid ground.
"Welcome to the Glade," the dark-skinned boy said and smiled a bit. "My name is Alby and this here is Newt," he said as he pointed to the pale ghost next to him. Newt let out a smile and Y/n returned the favor. "My name is Y/n, nice to me-," the scenery behind them caught her breath. Wide fields of grass and flowers made their way across the so-called Glade, trees stood at each corner of the place, but what stood out the most were the huge walls that surrounded the three of them. Every side had their own opening in the middle, which wasn't very small either. "What is this place?""You'll get used to it eventually, but for now, try to take it all in, because it's a lot." Alby told her and he jumped into the room she was in. The girl took her eyes off of the walls and looked into where Alby had just jumped. The room didn't seem like a room, but more a metal box with more boxes inside of it. Alby started lifting the crates and handing them to Newt, who struggled a lot with the weight of them, and put them down on the ground. "I think i'm going to faint."
And she did.
