it was a friday morning, riki was asleep in his apartment. he was off from work and decided to just stay home for the day and have a selfcare day. yes, boys have those too. he wanted to cook something for himself, enjoy a new series, call over some friends and do facemasks with them.
until he got called in for work. he was off, why would they want him at work? he didn't wanna go in. he was off for the weekend tho, so he moved his plans a day further. "hi sunoo, are you in already?" he was calling his friend on his way to his work. "hi riki! yes i am, are you coming in?" sunoo asked.
it was such bad weather, it was raining and the wind was blowing, plus it was freezing outside.
their conversation ended when riki entered the café they were working in. "hey sun!" sunoo nodded towards his direction, helping a customer. riki walked to the back, putting down his back and putting on his apron. "why are you in tho? weren't you off today?" sunoo asked, making the customers drink.
"yeah, i was supposed to be, until boss called me in. i don't even know why." he explained while tying his apron. "it's weird." sunoo agreed. riki nod. "it is what it is tho, i can't do anything. plus, i get paid extra since it wasn't originally a work day for me." riki smiled, getting to his work.
2 hours passed and it was currently 2 pm, sunoo was on his break while riki had to be up front, taking orders and making them along side another coworker.
riki was about to take an order when he saw the person in front of him, he was so gorgeous. he had black hair, beautiful bambi doe eyes and his face proportions were just perfect. you could say that riki was mesmerized. "h-hi welcome to spring café! what can i get you?" riki asked the customer in front of him.
he somehow recognized him, he just didn't know from where. he looked around the same age as him, maybe a little older. "hello?" the customer waved his hand in front of riki, who had zoned out. "oh i'm so sorry!" he quickly apologized.
"can i have an iced latte?" he asked. riki wrote it down on the cup. "what name can i use?" he asked, waiting for the answer to write it down. "heeseung." heeseung? riki frowned, the name was so familiar. "okay, it'll be ready in a second." heeseung nod and payed.
he really wanted to get him to know more, so he wrote a note to hand to him while serving his coffee.
hi, wanna be friends? x riki, the barista!

he might scare him off, but it's worth a try right? he walked over to heeseungs table, handing him te coffee along side the note, not forgetting to wink at the boy. heeseung smiled back, amused.
heeseung finished his coffee and walked over to the order register, giving his cup back. riki gladly took it and smiled. heeseung left the café smiling to himself. he liked the boy already and he knew that they would be bestfriends one day.
riki on the otherhand, kept admiring the boy. what if he wouldn't add his number? that means that he would have seen the boy only once!
a memory of riki flashed trough his mind.
little riki just got out of the car, it was slightly raining but it was certainly cold. he grabbed his mothers hand, walking to the school on the other side of the road. he saw a boy standing under the school sign, hiding from the rain. he had no jacket on.
riki bid his goodbye to his mother and walked over to the boy.
"hello?" riki walked over to the boy, tapping his shoulder. the boy looked up, confused. "why aren't you wearing a jacket?" 7 year old riki asked the boy. it was freezing and he was just sitting there. riki grabbed the extra jacket his mom had put in his bag. "here." he draped it over his shoulders.
