Three ladies, thrice alike in dignity, in fair Odaiba, where an air of tension was about to cloud.

DAY 5 of development. Rina had finished rendering one of the districts and had done most of the character sprites, some of the battle animations, and even the layout of the first dungeon. Mia finally figured out the 'item get!' jingle and was about to work on the final touches for the battle theme. Major strides had been made in their respective departments, and both were feeling great with their work.

Shizuku STILL had done jackshit. The writing department was STILL in shambles.

...Actually, Shizuku had written something. Where it took place in the story was beyond anyone's guess, but it was something that was written... on paper... with words...

(A sample of Shizuku's work, taken from page 12 of her notebook...)

SHIZUKU: Foul beast, born of a devil from the wretched depths of Odaiba, be slayed of life! For this sword shall thrust on thy throat!

RINA: For the almighty of man, thou shan't live another fortnight!

BEAST: I shall spend the last of my days, in battle, with a monetary reward, that being thy heads of your wicked deeds!

MIA: You Lily-livered ass! I'll tickle your catastrophe!

RINA: My Mia, you shan't swear in front of a god of malice!

MIA: Tis' part o' the swaggering, my dear heroine of the southern peninsula!

SHIZUKU: Quiet your mouths...

"...What?" Mia gave Shizuku a confused look. "What did I just read?"

"I tried forming the script into a Shakespearean play. A contrast of old storytelling techniques and language with the new, glitzy urban setting of Odaiba. It's quite interesting, right?"

Mia gave the script one last look, but she still had a confused look by the time she reached the end of the draft.

"Do you not like it?" asked Shizuku.

Mia promptly handed the notebook back to her. "...Well, it's... something I guess?"

The half-assed answer immediately followed with a stoically unamused Shizuku, and she grumbled, "...I should've known. You hate it, don't you?"

"Hey, I never said I hated it. But, you should rewrite it. No one would like Shakespearean text in their game."

"Could you try and lower your voice, Mia-senpai?"

"What do you mean?"

"...Is there anything positive about my work?"

"Well, Rina and I are there, which is cool..." There was a long pause. Mia's lips began to twitch.

"...Anything else?" Shizuku asked. No response. "As I suspected," she sighed. "Just be honest with me. I'm not fit for writing a video game, am I? This could never work, right?"
