You cheated

Untitled Part 1

So I've been gone a while, and yes this isn't one of my half complete stories but it is something I had mostly complete so I figured I may as well post it.

As I've said before Ill never abandon a story, I've just been busy, real life is a bitch

"You always win!" Sakura hears their son before she sees them, her daughter giggling in the background. Entering the Livingroom, she finds her husband and son sat at the shogi table, a usual sighting. Shikamaru looks up at her and smiles. Mouthing hi the kids hadn't noticed her yet. Their son the image of his father glares at the board, their youngest, leans against her father's leg taunting her brother, pink hair sticking up in all directions as if Sakura didn't spend an hour putting it into the cute buns she had begged for this morning, almost making her late for work.

Shikamaru pats her on the head telling her to be nicer to her big brother, before looking to his son, "You'll beat me eventually, that's how it goes, it took me years to finally beat my father. He is the only person who has ever beaten me at shogi."

Sakura clears her throat from the doorway.

"Mummy." Their daughter cry's barrelling into her arms. She laughs as she heaves the little girl into her arms. She only had a few more years off these cuddles before her baby girl got too big.

"It's always a good day when I beat your father."

"You've beaten him." Her daughter exclaims, there son sits up asking how.

"Your mother cheated."

"You are such a sore loser."

"Cheater." he exclaim, tilting his head back to smile at his wife. Sakura smiles back, hitching her daughter up on her hip she walks forwards to peck his cheek.

Shikamaru tangles his fingers into her hair manipulating her face to kiss his lips, a practised move perfected over their years together.

"How did you beat dad?" Her son asks expectantly. Ignoring the kiss, his parents had always been tactic people. His father explaining his mother's need for touch at a young age. For ninja especially medics tactile grounding is key, more so when they have had a day off loss.

"She cheated." Shikamaru says tugging her to sit beside him, Their daughter clambering back onto his knee.

"It's a strategy game,"

"So, you admit you cheated." He interrupts.

"I used a strategy."

"You used genjutsu." He argues for the thousandths time.

"It was a strategy."

"It was cheating." They are cut off by their daughter's giggles.

"If it was her strategy, does that mean she wasn't cheating." She asks.

"It's not one of the plays in the book." Their son disagrees with a frown.

"Exactly." Shikamaru agrees with his son.

"But dad it also doesn't say you can't."

"I think it's implied."

"I still won." Sakura laughs pulling herself up, to go change.

It's not until later when the kids are in bed, and Sakura is perched across the shogi board that she says.

"I've beaten you twice actually." She grins up at him as she places her next piece. Deliberately placing them in the strangest of places to confuse him. She has no strategy except to knock him off his game.
"You cheated both times. Any way we didn't even finish that last game."

"Did you really feel cheated that last time." She laughs.

"Not the point." Shikamaru points at her using the tile in his hand.

"So, you're saying you didn't enjoy it." She questions sweetly, as she slips off her outer shirt.

"Sakura." He groans, dropping his head into his hands. They are not finishing this game.

"What I'm hot."
"Yes you are, but we are not having sex on this table, again."

"Shame, I think that may have been my best win yet."
Laughing Shikamaru drops the piece onto the board uncaring of where it falls as her top follows her shirt. "Fuck it." He says scooping up his wife. "You win."
"Again." She laughs against his mouth.

"Again." He readily agrees.
