When she went back to school the next day, everything appeared normal. Amity went to her classes and went to the library like she does every day.
"How are you feeling sweetheart?" Mrs. Cassidy asked as Amity entered through the doors.
"I'm ok, could be better." Mrs. Cassidy looked at her with a sympathetic look and then smiled and nodded her head indicating that Amity can head on over to her seat. She sat down and started doing some homework before reading one of her favorite's, To Kill a Mockingbird. She was so engrossed with her book that she lost track of time and didn't realize that she had to get to class. During her period of reading Mrs. Cassidy had been moving around the library putting books back on the shelves, cleaning tables, putting furniture back where it belongs and even vacuuming the floor. She then went into a separate room with a kitchen to fetch herself some food and a drink."Amity? Are you still in here?" Mrs. Cassidy called as she walked into the area after fetching some lunch. "Amity?" she turned the corner to find Amity pale, unconscious, unresponsive, and collapsed on the floor. "AMITY!" she ran up to her body, knelt to the floor and felt for a pulse. There wasn't one. She pulled Amity's body towards her and started feeling for a breath. No breath. She then ran to her desk and retrieved her phone before running back to Amity. She wanted to call an ambulance, but the schools policy is to call the office, who then will call an ambulance, so she did that. "Hello, yes I have a student in the library with no pulse, she isn't breathing either." She was panicking, this has never happened to her. Amity was like the daughter she never had. "Please hurry."
"Amity?" she could hear a very faint voice. It sounded like Mrs. Cassidy, but from a distance.
"Mrs. Cassidy?" she called. No response. There was nothing around her. Only a sea of white clouds, and a shadow of a figure.
'You're not going to receive an answer from her.' There it was again. The voice. The voice that's been haunting her for weeks. The shadow kept moving towards her
"What do you mean?" she was paralyzed with fear. "Who are you?" she asked the shadow. It just continued walking towards her. It stopped, tilted its head up and down as if examining her, and then continued walking. Right through her. Amity felt that her soul had left her body. But it hadn't. She was perplexed, she was flabbergasted. "What..." no words came out. Blood poured out of her mouth and dripped down to the floor. She started choking on her own blood, and slowly started losing the ability to breathe. Her heart had slowly stopped beating until eventually it stopped, and she collapsed. She was just another person added to the shadows long list of dead bodies.
'Now time for my next victim.' It had started walking off then stopped all of a sudden. 'You know you were my target all along. The boys were just, what do you call it? Collateral damage?' It then started laughing manically.
