The ceremony had ended, and though it was late at night, Mars was still on the mountain. The rain had stopped, and darkness enveloped the whole of Gowntown. Most people were asleep, but a few homes still had their lights on. Mars noticed that Misa and Mike's house was dark, indicating they were sleeping. He sighed.
Mars: It's late now; I should head back home.
As Mars stood up, he felt a sharp pain in his chest. About to turn back, he sensed a warm breath on his shoulder.
Unknown Guy: Mars, that's your name, right? I'm not someone sent by Infinity, but I gotta tell you that something bad is going to happen soon. Be prepared. I'm letting you live, but take this as a warning. You'll die soon.
The next day, Mars called Misa and Mike.
Misa: What's wrong?
Mars: Last night, someone attacked me. He said that something bad will happen in Controlium soon. He claimed he wasn't sent by Infinity.
Mike: Can't you even fight for self-defense?
Mars: My energy is important for the upcoming war. I can't waste it.
Mike: Bullshit.
Misa: Shut up.
Mars: We have greater problems ahead. Focus on them.
The sun was setting over Controlium. Birds were returning to their nests, humans were emerging from theirs, and the market was less crowded than before.
A tense atmosphere hung over Controlium.
Mars: Mike, go back to Earth. There's this girl, Yuzuki Shiratori. Let's bring her to Controlium. I can sense a strange energy from her. She's useful.
Mike: Well, well, a girl, huh? What's her size?
Misa: You pervert.
Mike: Are you jealous?
Misa: No.
Mike: Good grief.
...
The school bell rang, and students poured out of the high school, chatting with friends. Yuzuki, however, was alone. She had long black hair and her height was around 5'5" or 5'6", not too huge but around 95 to 100 cms (sus).
A tall and handsome guy appeared in front of her. His name was Kaito Tsukino. He smiled at her, and she, shy as she was, found it hard to maintain eye contact.
Kaito: Hoi, Yuzuki-san.
Yuzuki: Kaito-kun.
Kaito: I don't know if it's weird, but I have feelings for you.
Yuzuki: Huh?
Kaito: Yes, Yuzuki-san. Will you date me?
Yuzuki had never been loved by anyone. She felt shy, having had a crush on Kaito for more than two years.
Yuzuki: I-I-I love you too, K-Kaito-san.
Kaito: Really? So it's fine. Let's go on a date this evening.
That evening, Yuzuki arrived at the restaurant where Kaito had invited her. She sat down and waited for him, excited. But time passed, and Kaito didn't come. It grew darker outside, and still, he didn't appear. She stepped outside the restaurant to call Kaito, but as she took out her phone, it slipped from her hands and fell into an open gutter. Tears filled her eyes as she waited, but Kaito never came.
She began walking home, but in a different restaurant, she saw Kaito with another girl, more beautiful than herself. Kaito kissed her, and the restaurant erupted in applause. Yuzuki entered, and Kaito looked at her angrily.
Kaito: What the hell are you doing here?
Yuzuki: W-What is this, Kaito-kun?
Kaito: Get lost, Yuzuki.
Everyone laughed. The girl with Kaito glared at Yuzuki.
Girl: You're so annoying.
Boy: Don't spend more time here; this place isn't safe for a girl like you.
The laughter continued as Yuzuki, in tears, ran out of the restaurant and towards her house. As it began to rain, she ran so fast that she slipped and was about to fall, but...
A hand caught her.
She looked up at the man.
Mike: Why are you running so fast in the rain?
