Hashirama sighed as he sat back in his chair and rubbed his face. It seemed that all he had been doing for hours was paperwork since the sun was starting to lower beneath the horizon. However now his eyesight was blurring and his hands ached. Running his hands through his silky, long hair the Hokage sighed once more when he noticed the scarce strands of silver hair in his hands; he was getting old.
“Grandpa!” Tsunade screamed as she kicked the door to his office open and ran in.
The aging Hokage jumped and cringed slightly at the sudden intrusion by his granddaughter but none the less put on a loving smile and lifted the bouncy five year old into his lap. “Hello there Tsunade, what do you need?” He asked kindly. As loud as his granddaughter was he still loved her to death.
“I want a story!”
“Why don’t you go find grandma, I’m sure she’d be happy to tell you one.”
Tsunade made a face and looked slightly miffed, “Grandma told me to go find you because she was too busy!”
Hashirama gave a strained laugh, “She did, did she?” You sly she-devil…
“Yes, story time!”
Hashirama sighed as she sat back in his chair, “I guess I can take a break for a little bit, what story would you like to hear?”
“I wanna hear a love story!”
“A love story huh? Well any one in particular?”
Tsunade grinned, “I wanna hear a new one and nothing about you and grandma cause’ I know all of them!”
“Well then give me a minute to think.” Hashirama stifled the annoyed scream inside him, you just can’t make this easy on me! “I think I have one. Have I ever told you about the Ninja that fell in love with the moon?”
Tsunade looked at him with rapt attention, “No. how does it go?”
Hashirama took a deep breath before he began his story.
“Long ago there was a ninja from a far-away land who traveled to the village of Tsukigakure during a warring era. This village was special because it was sealed just above the gate to the spirit world. Now, the ninja who traveled to this village had no idea of that. All he knew was that he was hurt and that he needed medical attention bad...”
The ninja gasped painfully as his many wounds began to sting. He had bled so much that the ninja had no idea of how he was even still alive. However he still pressed on for in the distance was a village up ahead. The moonlight glittered down upon it and still the ninja pressed on. Just as he got to the front of the gates of the village he then fell forward, his entire body exhausted. Closing his eyes the ninja could only think that if he survived this he would be the luckiest man in the world.
The next morning the ninja awoke to find himself on his back as someone worked on his wounds. Sliding his gaze over the ninja saw that it was a beautiful woman with dark hair and crystalline blue eyes. Her face was certainly beautiful but her voice was even lovelier, “Your wounds were very bad, I thought for a couple times last night that I was losing you.” She said.
“No, it would seem that I’m still here thanks to your healing abilities.” The ninja replied.
“Actually it wasn’t me that healed you, rather Yami, my sensei did.”
“Oh then perhaps I should thank him, where is he?”
The woman smiled gently at him, “Yami is out gathering some more supplies from the village market and should be back soon.”
