I sighed as I began to clean the floor of the kitchen. I worked in the Uchiha mansion if you're wondering. I'm pretty much their maid that does anything and everything that they ask. Right now I was assigned to clean the kitchen floor as instructed by queen cleaning bitch Nitsa Masaomi.
So here I was on my hands and knees just scrubbing away. It was hard work but I was used to such things. I always was given the nasty chores because I would talk back to Nitsa.
My glasses slipped down my face and I growled in annoyance. In reality I wouldn’t wear these things but I did this so as to not give Nitsa any impression that I was prettier than her. She hated any competition for ‘Her’ Sasuke as she put it. It just made me sick to my stomach to really even think about Sasuke. He was hot and all but I liked Itachi. The way that he was always in control of his emotions at any given time was admirable.
I seemed to have been lost in my own little world as I heard a snapping noise. I looked up and then my eyes met crimson ones. There standing in front of me was Itachi Uchiha himself. I blushed slightly and then blinked a couple of times, “Can I help you Master Uchiha?” I asked him. Itachi sighed and then looked at me, “Yes because I asked you three times to get me something hot to drink.” He replied.
I cursed myself on the inside and then got up onto my feet. “Yes sir, sorry to make you repeat it so many times, I’ll get onto it right now.” I said as I dusted off my dress. I went over to the counter and began to make coffee while Itachi sat down on the table. After a few minutes I got down the mug he always drank from and then I poured in the coffee with two sugars and a shot of creamer. Once that was done I walked over to Itachi and then gave it to him. “Thank-you.” He said emotionlessly. “You’re welcome sir.” I replied as I then got back down on the floor to continue scrubbing.
“Tell me, when did you learn to make such good coffee?” He asked as he continued to sip. I shrugged, “I don’t know sir. I just make coffee when asked.” I replied. In a few minutes he had finished his coffee and then was gone and once he was I smacked myself on the head. ‘I just make coffee? Really? Why didn’t you keep the conversation going?’ I thought and smacked myself on the head.
It had been a few months since then and I was getting aggravated. Lately Nitsa was giving me worse and worse tasks and I had finally had it. I was in the parlor cleaning when she knocked over the bookshelf that I had just cleaned. “Clean it up idiot.” She ordered me.
I stood up and glared at her, “That’s it! I don’t care who you are but you’re a bitch! I clean day and night and take on the hardest chores without complaining but enough is enough! I quit!” I screamed at her.
My screaming attracted everyone else in the house and they came to watch the scene unfold. Nitsa snorted and looked at me, “You can’t, and you’re on contract which means you’re under the Uchiha household orders and mine.” She spat back. I gripped the glove on my right hand which I wore pretty much all the time and ripped it off.
“I can do whatever I wish.” I hissed and showed her the mark on my palm. It was the mark of the Senju Family. The highest power known in the business world.
“Now, as Kaila Senju, get out of my way. I’m gone.” I spat and then stormed off. She moved for me as she was shocked at my birth right. I flung the front door open and saw that it was raining but it didn’t stop me. I stormed out of the home and into the rain. I walked down the sidewalk once I got into the city and ignored all of the cars that were whizzing by. However I began to get tired and sat down on a park bench. I really had nowhere to go and I felt really stupid.
Suddenly an umbrella was over my soaked head. I looked over and was shocked to see Itachi standing there getting rained on. “What are you doing?” I asked him.
He shrugged, “You’ll catch a cold out here.” He stated. I shook my head, "I'm already soaked, you take it." I said and pushed the umbrella back over his head.
However he put it back over me. I pushed it back to him and then he put it over me. We did this for awhile until I sighed in annoyance and then let him put the umbrella over me. In a bit the rain stopped and then the sun came out. I stood up as Itachi folded up his umbrella and walked beside me.
"Are you going to just follow me all day?" I asked him annoyed.
He shrugged his shoulders, "Depends, do you even have a home to go to?" He shot back.
I thought for a moment but then remembered about my friend's condo that she had here and nodded, "I'm going to my condo." I said and then turned to walk to it. Behind me I heard Itachi's foot steps and rolled my eyes, "You'd better walk next to me before someone files a creeper report on you." I told him.
Itachi walked up next to me and I felt a little happy about the fact that he was walking me home. Well it wasn't my home per say but it was going to be for now since I knew where the key was and my friend was never home. We got back to where the condo was and I quickly unlocked the door. I turned back to Itachi and looked at him, "Thanks." Was all I said before I shut the door on him.
It had been a couple months since the Uchiha family found out that I was royalty but every day when I would get off from my new job Itachi was there to walk me home. It became a sort of habit between us. However one day I got sad news. My parents had found me again and I was to be moved back to Japan to be under their care. I was twenty-two but apparently I wasn't able to be on my own.
I sighed as I walked back with Itachi to my condo that my friend let me stay in. She was pretty mad when she found out that I had been using it but eventually she calmed down.
"You're awfully quiet." Itachi pointed out. Usually on the way back I would be talking up a storm about nothing inparticularly. "I'm just.... thinking." I replied slowly.
We got back to my condo and I looked at Itachi from the door. In the months that he had been walking me home I had let him inside maybe twice. I looked at him as he was about to walk away and was about to say something but I soon dropped it. "What?" He asked. I looked at him but shook my head, "Nothing." I said and then went inside. Today was my last day and I felt so saddened that I wouldn't be returning to California.
I sighed as I walked down the extensively decorated hallway of my parent's home. It was a few months later yet again and I found myself immensely missing Itachi walking me home. I went to the front door and slipped on my shoes, I needed to go for a walk.
I headed outside and took in a deep breath of air and then began to walk. I thought about everything that I had left in California and all of the people I had left. The cloudy sky then decided to open up and begin to pour. And that was when I heard foot steps behind me. I felt some panic go through me but I sayed calm as the rain fell. Then suddenly an umbrella was over me. "You'll catch a cold out here." A familiar voice said.
I looked back and saw Itachi standing behind me. My eyes widened and I sputtered as my brain desperately reached for any words to describe my feelings. However I then realized that while I was trying to think of words that I appeared back at my home. "I... this is... my house. I should most likely... go." I finished lamely. I walked up the steps until I was on the fourth step. Itachi however was on the second step when I turned to face him and noticed that I was now even height with him.
He was soaked and still he had the umbrella over me. "Tell me... why are you here?" I asked.
He shrugged like usual, "To walk you home." He replied.
I looked at him skeptically, "So you just decided to hop on a plane, fly half way around the world, track down where I was, and track down where I lived just to walk me home?" I asked him. Deep in his eyes I could see that there was more than that and that was when I realized that I had feelings for him as well.
He opened his mouth to speak again but I grinned at him and threw my arms around him. I then pressed my lips to his. He was shocked to say the least but then he began to kiss back and I was in pure bliss. His lips seemed like they were made for mine. We broke apart and just as he opened his mouth I grinned and pulled him into my house by his collar.
I think that we both knew he didn't come half way around the world just to walk me home. However I would make his long trip worth the while.
