"... Rickey mera beta hai na ?"

Sonu thought he has heard wrong. Mahi smiled on his questioning stare and said — "hai na ?"

"Mmm... matlab ? Wh....what do you mean ?"

"Um...you know what I mean. Ok, agar tu Gauti ke sath khush hai to mujhe batane ki jarurat nahi hai, lekin khud se puchh lena kabhi. Tu khush nahi hai Sonu, teri aankho se, tere chehre se pata chalta hai mujhe ke tu khush nahi hai. Waise bhi jo sachh tu ne mujhe chaar saal pehle nahi bataya tha, woh aaj kiun hi batayega!"

A thirty seconds silence. Then suddenly Sonu started sobbing. Mahi's heart ached for making him cry, he took his cute friend in two trusty arms.

"Shhh.... it's okay. Kuch bolne ki jarurat nahi hai... sorry yaar. I shouldn't embarrass you..."

He stroked Sonu's back and decided not to ask anything again. But Sonu couldn't stay silent, his grip tightened on Mahi's shoulder.

"I wished to tell you Mahi....but how could I ? Tell me!!! You loved Priyanka di... clearly stated that you're straight.... after that... how could I ?..."

He was literally hiccuping. The convo's suddenness made him spit the truth, if it would held with awareness, he could gulp all the emotions. Mahi actually wanted this, so he played with his cool brain, because he knew Sonu won't tell him other time.

"You should tell me once Pagal! Bekar me mere bachche ko chaar saal tak mujhse dur rakkha! Mujh par thodasa bharosa nahi tha tujhe ? Pata hai main kitna taras raha tha tere liye jab tu achanak chala gaya ? Kamina Yuvi ne bhi kuchh nahi bataya mujhe..."

Mahi himself came in tears getting Sonu in his arms after a long time. Specially when he becomes sure about his guess it didn't let mr. Cool remain cool much.

They took some time in eachother's embrace, spent some emotional words and tear drops. When both came in easier state to speak Sonu first---

"But how do you know ? Just a guess ?"

"Pagal! Jab Rickey ko gale se lagaya tabhi samajh gaya tha, woh mera hi ansh hai. Aur......"

"Aur ?"

"Aur itna bhi jaanta tha ki under normal condition, tu jisse bhi shaadi kar le atleast Gauti se nahi karega iykyk"

"But he cared for us a lot, which was highly unexpected"

"Pata hai yaar, I'm greatful to him. Aadmi thoda teda hai lekin dil saaf hai. Tujhse aur Rickey se bohot pyaar karta hai woh. Arey... I didn't mean that, as a friend tujhse pyaar karta hai"

"Hmm...ab ye batao shaadi cancel karne ka kya chakkar hai ?"

"When I made sure my calculation, I acknowledged the presumable truth to her. Making me amazed she took that easily and wished me a happy life with you..... phirse pout kiun kar raha hai ?"

"Meri wajah se tum dono ki...."

"Sonu baby..." Mahi leaned on his cute pouted face, "I have no regret for that! But I'm glad to get the sweetest family I desired!"

"You desired ?"

"Haan yaar... tere chale jaane ke baad realise kiya, tere bina jeena kitna mushkil hai. Ab mujhse kabhi dur to nahi jayega naa ?"

Sonu thought for a little. The opposite man looking at him with lots of hope.

"Mayiiiii....ghal chalo"

Rickey came running and jumped on Mahi's lap.

"Chalo beta"

Sonu was being sure that Mahi isn't gonna waste a chance to adore his own son of which he was deprived for four years. And there's no chance of changing captain cool's decision.

"Mahi.....kya tum sachme Rickey ki responsibility lene ki soch rahe ho ?"

Mahi looked at him like he said something impossible to be. --"Of course Sonu, Rickey mera beta hai"

His impression on 'mera' made Sonu sure about his strategy's strength. Little Rickey also observed his possessiveness.

"Kya ? Main tumala beta hu Mayi ?"

Sonu asked his last question - "Aren't you afraid of people's, media's and most importantly team members' questions ?"

"Definitely not"
