Time and the days passed by, Christmas break coming closer and closer. Tyler didn't have any other chance to speak with Josh, and they only exchanged awkward looks during classes they shared.

Tyler had even tried returning to the recordshop, looking carefully around and scanning the aisles for any signs of Josh. When he didn't find him anywhere, he approached another worker behind the counter.

"Excuse me...?" Tyler hesitated, addressing the boy behind the counter, who glanced up with indifferen, his eyes sweeping all over Tyler.

"What can I do for you?" came the robotic response, as if he'd been repeating this phrase so regularly it became as automatic as covering your mouth when coughing.

"I was wondering if you could maybe... tell me when Josh works..." Tyler blurted these words out, suddenly regretting he came.

Boy's eyebrows arched slowly, his gaze made Ty feel like a tiny cockroach that's about to be squashed to death. "And why would you like to know that, huh?"

"I-uhh... I am his... friend"

"Why the hesitantion?" his foreign strange accent only added to Tyler's discomfort as it was coming out rigid and unwelcoming.

Tyler swallowed hard, searching desperately for an escape from the stranger's piercing stare. His eyes landed on the cashier's name tag. "Willy."

Tyler clanched his fists and gathered the last ounce of his courage to meet Willy's gaze. "I need to talk to him, but... it's quite complicated, " he admitted with a sigh.

Willy scratched his nose, wondering what to do. After a couple of silent, tensed moments, he frowned. "Try coming next Friday."
