"We have to fight back. Zeri has a plan." Ekko said to the other members of the Firelights in the meeting room of the warehouse. "We must attack the Shimmer factories."
"We don't have the numbers for a large scale offensive." said Marshall, looking distressed.
"It's true. But if we can destroy one of their factories, we'll make a statement. It'll show that we can't be intimidated." replied Ekko, punching the table.
"But what about the collateral damage?" asked Zeri, hesitant.
"We have to accept some casualties. It's the price we have to pay. We have to strike fast and hard." said Ekko, trying not to show a hint of fear in his voice.
"Okay. Hopefully that won't be the case. So when are we going to do it?" asked Zeri.
"I'll choose a special task force today and we'll go give Silco a visit tomorrow ad the north-western factory." replied Ekko.
"Are you sure this will work?" asked Zeri, unsure.
"I'm positive. This is the best chance we have." answered Ekko.
"Alright, I'm in." said Zeri.
"I'm in too." added Marshall.
"Great. Let's prepare ourselves." said Ekko.
In the meantime, Jinx was also busy. She was training in the gym of the villa, practicing her shooting and boxing skills. She had been listening to the whole scene thanks to the camera in the imprisoned henchmen's suit which had been kept in a box in the reunion room. The suit was mishandled by whoever had to take care of it, unaware that it contained a camera.
"Seems like we're in for some fun." said Jinx to herself, playing with her hair.
She decided to tell her father about the situation.
"Dad, the Firelights are planning to attack the North-western factory. I'm heading there with reinforcements." she announced, entering the office.
"So predictable. I can't believe they didn't find out about the camera." laughed off Silco. "I don't think you should expose yourself that much, Jinx. I want you to stay here. You've done enough already."
"But, Dad..."
"Enough! I'll deal with the Firelights. Now, go back to your room and don't interfere."
Jinx felt angry and sad. She didn't want to let her father down.
"Fine." she said, leaving the office.
She returned to her room and locked herself inside.
"Stupid father, always telling me what to do." she murmured. Then, she decided to look outside her door, checking whether anyone was guarding it. When she saw she was alone, she decided to get out and join the henchmen's reinforcements.
"I'll show him." she muttered.
They spent the entire afternoon planning the mission and preparing for the assault. Ekko had divided the members into several teams. He chose himself, Zeri and Marshall to lead the attack. Later, he headed towards the training grounds, a big building where the Firelights practiced their combat skills. He could see Vi was already there.
"Hey, Vi." he called her.
"Hey, dude. What's up?" she answered, focused.
"How are you feeling about the mission? Are you ready?" asked Ekko.
"Yeah, I guess. I'll do my best." replied Vi.
"Good. We need everyone at their best. This is our chance to fight back." said Ekko, smiling, before becoming serious. "You know we might meet her, right?"
