I don't know who it was that texted me but they had the audacity.Texting my phone about MY NIGGA. I poured my self a glass of wine and laughed to myself. Drique gave me money to open a boutique. I did just that and also opened a nail salon . I've had more money then a little bit to hire workers. This pregnancy is dragging and i often spent time at home when i wasn't working the store. Ahlirah just started walking and shes making me so proud. So beautiful, and happy i knew that we were doing just right by her. I got out of the tub and made my way to the bedroom. Drique was on the road and it was just Ahlirah and i in the home. As i flicked through channels. I stopped when i saw Drique on the tv. On the bleachers sat a familiar face. Mari..That was who probably texted my phone. I wanted to get angry and throw a fit but i smirked instead and dialed Bricks number. The phone rang a couple more times before he picked it up.

"Hello?"Brick said. 

"How have you been?"

"Listen shawty i ain't for the games... you tied down...and made it clear you was done with me...fk you calling me for now?"

"Listen... I'm only with him to get to the bag..We have one daughter together yes this baby is yours. He don't gotta know that."

"You crazy as hell. I wanna be in my kids life. I ain't ever play that deadbeat shit Giselle-"

"Brick...relax... you'll be around this baby. you just need to be quiet. Let me have two more by him and then I'm rolling..I just need you to keep quiet. I'll send 3 racks a month to keep this on the hush."

"So when are you due and when can i see the baby?"

"Drique is on the road for a couple months. I was calling you to see if you wanted to come up here..you can go to the doctors appointments with me..."

"You fr?"

"For real brick just don't tell anyone..please... Imma book your flight now..."i said

"Aight...call me back when you got it booked so i can get my shit together."

"Okay."I smiled hanging up. I booked his flight real quick then called him back to give him the details. Ahlirah was watching a movie and laughing. I smiled and felt a little fucked up inside . But this is what happens when you cross a Taurus woman. 

Night turned into day and Brick arrived. We made hot passionate sex in the shower before heading out to dinner with Ahlirah in tow. I wore sunglasses and a sun hat with a sundress to mask my identity. Ahlirah had on baby shades as well. We sat down in  a seafood restaurant and i could tell Brick had some shit on his mind. 

"What did he do for you to be on this type time?"Brick asked while stuffing food in his mouth. 

"He cheated on me. I was loyal to him for years and i gave him a baby and he was in college cheating on me."

"He's your first love i am guessing."

"Was my first love."

"My baby mom was my first love...i cheated on her tho..dumbest shit i ever did. She works a good ass job now, two side hustles and is married. I definitely fumbled her."

"I think a lot of men fumble good women for trash."

"See this is where you women get it fucked up...yall be mad at the girl and shes automatically trash because she had your man...The issue be us men....that woman could be a good person and all but she fell for a lame just like you did."

I never quite looked at it that way and i shook my head. I guess a part of me was still angry because it wasn't Mari's fault that this happened . Drique wasn't truthful to either one of us. 

"I know I'm not no football star and I'm just a regular hood nigga but I'm a good nigga. I like you Giselle...I want you to know me know me." He said touching my hand. I smiled and looked down at my plate.

"I guess you can say I'm still healing."

"I know... I can tell...cuz anyone that is tryna pin a child on a man knowing he's not the father and have two more for a check is bat shit crazy....but its just cus you were hurt and feel the need to get revenge."He smirked.

"You definitely be reading me."

Brick leaned forward and kissed me. I closed my eyes and was taking the whole moment in.

When i opened my eyes his hand was resting on mine. Soft music began to play in the restaurant. 

"Imma take these next few months we got together to show you how you are supposed to be treated."He said kissing my hand. 

I was scared about letting Brick in fully. I didn't want to be hurt again but i wanted to feel that type of love again. 

After dinner we headed back to the crib and i put Ahlirah to bed before undressing. Brick sat on the bed and was flicking through channels.

''Whats your sign?"I asked him. 

"I'm  a virgo."

"Aah now it makes sense."

"What?"

"The chemistry we have."

Brick pulled me into his arms and began to rub on my stomach. 

"You are beautiful.
I felt tears form in my eyes because i couldn't remember the last time that i have heard that genuinely. Drique and i fell off so bad it was like we don't even say i love you to one another anymore. 

I wiped the tears away from my eyes quickly.

"We gotta a lot to do the next few months."He said kissing me. I fell asleep afterwall in his arms.
