Eva's pov:

The ride to the doctors was tense, very tense. I was very anxious and nervous. My legs kept going up and down, and I was starting to bite my nails from how nervous I was. Liam, however, looked more cool. It's like he wasn't even scared of the doctors.

After a few minutes, we arrived to the hospital. We got out of the car and went inside. We walked through the corridors till we reached the pediatric wing. We entered, signed our names, and waited in the lobby for our names to be called. I sat between Liam and Jane. Brian sat next to Liam.

It occurred to me that I didn't know why Jane was here, so I decided to ask her out of curiosity.

"Jane?"

She turned and looked at me.

"Yes, Eva?"

"I was wondering why you came with us today. Not that I am against it, I feel safer that you are here too."

"Didn't Brian tell you?"

This question has gotten Brian's attention to us.

"Tell her what?"

"What you told me in the morning."

"Oh, that. Well, I am afraid it'll have to wait till we are inside because they are not gonna be happy about it."

"What are you talking about?"

"You'll understand later."

Both of them seem to hide something from us and it's making me feel uncomfortable. After a while, nurses came out and called out names. I held on Jane's hands tightly as we went behind the nurse to go to the doctor. The nurse opened a door and we entered.

"The doctor will be with you in a while. For now, I'd like to take your height, weight, and blood pressure."

I hide behind Jane because I was nervous about those. Liam went first volunteerly. The nurse took his height, then his weight, and lastly blood pressure.

Then, it was my time to go. I tugged Jane to come with me since I was scared. The nurse took my height and weight with no problems. When it came to taking my blood pressure, I started to freak out. My heart started to beat fast. I started hyperventilating.  My breath was uneven.

"Eva! Look at me!"

I heard Brian said. He came towards me and stood in front of me.

"Eva, you've done this before. It doesn't hurt, it'll just be tight for a second then all will be well. I need you to calm down for me, can you?"

I closed my eyes and started focusing on my breathing. After a while, it became normal and I was able to breath normally.

"Ok, Eva, would you like doctor Miller to do it, since you're more common with him?"

I nodded my head to the nurse's suggestion.

Brian took the nurse's place and put the cuff around my arm.

"All good?"

I nodded my head.

"Ok. I'm going to pump now."

He started pumping and the cuff started to become tighter to the point that I felt everything tight. After a second or so, it started to relax and there was no more tighting.

The nurse took the measurements and left the room. I went and hugged Brian till the doctor came. Brian hugged me back and kept caressing my hair and back. A while later, a doctor came inside.

"Good morning! How are my dear patients doing?"

He was very cheerful and optimistic which made me doubt that he'll be good to me. He took out a new glove from the glove box, and it snapped as he wore it.

"Alright, looks like we are a bit nervous, are we? So, who's gonna go first?"

Liam took Jane's hand and went to towards the doctor. He patted on the bed to let Liam know he should sit there. Liam climbed on the bed and held Jane's hand tightly. I feel bad because I should've let him take Brian not Jane. I also feel bad that he has to go first everytime.

The doctor put his stethoscope in his ears and told Liam to breath. Liam took a breath as the doctor checked his heart and lungs. Then, he checked his mouth, eyes, and ears. Then, he checked his knees to see if there's something wrong. Finally, he checked his stomach. He kept pressing in certain areas around the stomach.

"Alright! Seems like you're a healthy boy. What's your name?"

"Liam."

"Well, done Liam. In a while, after I check out your sister, if you do the last thing as brave as you were right now, you get to choose a candy!"

"There is something else? What is it?"

"You'll know soon. Now, can you sweet girl come up here so I can do your check up?"

I looked at Brian, and he signaled to me to go. I took his hands as I went and sat on the bed. I could hear my heart beat very fast from how nervous I was.

The doctor took of his gloves and put on new ones.

"Alright, before I start, is there something you'd like to tell me?"

I didn't know what he meant, but I stayed silent.

"The nurse who was here before me told me you were panicking from just taking your blood pressure. Is there something that you are scared of that I might help you with?"

I looked at Brian, and he understood that I won't talk, so he talked instead of me.

"She's just nervous around doctors. She's been through much, so it's still something we haven't gotten over yet."

"Mmh... I see. Well, as you've seen with your brother, I'm going to do the same things. If you feel uncomfortable, just tell me and I'll stop."

I nodded my head.

First, he took his stethoscope and put it on my chest. He told me to breath and I did. I'm pretty sure my heart rate was up, but he didn't comment on it. Then, he checked my mouth, eyes, and ears. Let me tell you that it was the worst thing that has happened to me til now. I've hated every second of it. Then, he checked on my knees. Lastly, the hardest step of all, he was going to check on my stomach, but I stopped my hand.

"What's wrong? Do you feel uncomfortable or does your stomach hurt?"

"She's afraid of this part. She's sensitive to touching. I prefer if we skip this part or let me do it because she won't let you to."

"I'm not gonna ask why now, but we'll talk later Brian. For now, you can continue the check up."

I felt a little relief that Brian will be the one to do the stomach part again. But, then, I remembered that it was the most uncomfortable thing.

"Alright Eva, lie down and take few deep breaths. Nothing new is going to happen. It's just my hands pressing lightly."

I took some deep breaths and lied down. He started to press gently on my stomach in different areas.

"Alright. I'm done. You're good."

I sat up again and held Brian tightly.

"Alright! Now that you are done, Eva, we are going to go to the last part of the check up."
