Before Emma could notice, the clock on the wall in the IT room was 4:00pm. I start to gather my belongings when my best friend and coworker, Julie Clarke, comes walking in.
"I saw that there are two good looking men in the library. They asked me if I knew you and when you get off work," Julie stated, as she grinned at me excitedly.
"Julie, you didn't," I blush pink in my face.
"Oh, I most definitely did," Julie teased me.
Emma sighs heavily, shaking her head at her friend, in frustration.
"Honestly, what am I going to do with you," Emma told her friend, giving her a certain look, that had Julie laughing uncontrollably.
"You know you love me," Julie teased Emma, hugging her from the side, then letting her friend go.
"You're right," I mumble, and she left the IT room and into the main part of the library.
Without realizing it, and Emma minding her own business, she bumps head first into something hard. Only to notice, it was a chest. Looking up, Emma sees the young kid from earlier.
He had dark brown hair, dark blue eyes, like the sea, and a body that can make any girl swoon. Of course, since Emma was shy around most men, she blushed uncontrollably.
"Hi gorgeous, what's your name," Dick smiled softly at the beautiful young woman.
"I'm Emma. Emma Rose Donoghue," she stated, rather quickly.
"You know, you're cute when you talk that fast," Dick replied sweetly.
"Can I help you with something," Emma asked Dick, as she walked away with her keys in her hand.
"Not really. Can a nice guy walk a beautiful woman to her car? Besides, this day in age, you should be careful. You never know what kind of crazy people would take advantage of someone as sweet as you," he stated, matter of fact.
"You do have a point, so I would appreciate a walk to my car," she smiled sweetly at him.
All the while Dick walked Emma to her car, Steve was chomping at the bit, because he wanted to walk his girl to her car. Dick, seeing this behavior from Captain, he sticks his tongue at him and giving him a peace sign. Steve groans in silence.
"This isn't over, sidekick," Steve grumbled.
