The sand filling Yuu's face subsided, only leaving that dry sting in their eyes and throat. They coughed, looking around the field. There stood Ace, Deuce, Ruggie, Jack, and Lilia Vanrouge, who was the one casting the most. With a swift bit of magic, the phantom was taken, and that left
the ink on the one who created it to dissolve.Leona let out a pained roar, seething and falling to the ground. He was clearly winded. He coughed continually. Lilia ran towards him.
"Kingscholar," the fairy looked down.
Ruggie was still catching his breath. Ace, Deuce, and Lilia all ran towards Leona.
The beastman thrashed for a moment. Dry coughs were coming from his throat. When Lilia finally got close enough, the lion was silent.
"Housewarden K-Kingscholar? Hello?" Deuce seemed panicked.
Deuce knew this sight all too well. He nervously went towards Leona's body, which, at that point, wasn't moving. Lilia was desensitized to this sight but felt a feeling of dread creep up onto him.
"Spade, if you would flip him over, please?" he said, clearly attempting to hold himself together.
"Of course, Vanrouge!" Deuce nodded.
Ace stood there dumbfounded yet again. Lilia and Deuce were trying to help Leona. Ruggie me over when he caught his breath. He wanted to say that it served him right, but he didn't feel like Leona was simply unconscious.
When Deuce was trying to check for Leona's heartbeat, he felt his uniform gloves had some form of liquid on them.
"Ah..." Deuce looked at it.
Deuce suddenly threw his glove on the ground.
"Deuce? What are you doing?!" Ruggie said, moving his foot away from the glove.
"I-I'm sorry, Ruggie..it was an instinctive reaction. I think he's bleeding," Deuce said.
Lilia sighed.
"This is worse than I first thought," he said, standing up, "Trappola. Get Crowley."
Ace nodded. As if the bird will do anything... he thought. Lilia checked Leona. Sure enough, there was a deep mark on his chest.
Lilia looked more serious than he usually did, as if he'd been through this before. Knowing him, he probably had.
However, Lilia felt guilty for stealing a life so young. He was a ruthless general in his past, but he was not a cold or heartless monster. There was no chance of survival.
Leona was dead practically on arrival to the infirmary. Yes, he was blasted badly, but it was the sand that did the most damage. He choked, more than anything. He choked to death. He'd been unconscious for far too long by the time Crowley got there.
Lilia would take most of the responsibility for Leona's death. He had admitted to casting the magic that knocked him off his feet. He made sure Ace and Deuce were not blamed for his actions.
Still, the school did not expel Lilia, just as they did not expel Trey. They had acted in self-defense; overblots were not fun and games. If Leona had continued, the phantom would be out terrorizing Twisted Wonderland, and the entire school might have been destroyed.
