Klaus sighed taking in the view. A field with nothing but flowers and butterflies surrounding him.
He knew this. For some reason of late, he was always brought back to this dream.
Klaus saw a a woman standing a few feet away from him. Her back turned so he couldn't see a face. He decided to walk over to her.
"It's beautiful, huh? Reminds me of that field by the village." The woman spoke Klaus noticed that voice anywhere
"My love." Klaus spoke softly the women turned revealing Katherine she had a smile on her face as she looked at him
"What's with the face?" Katherine asked softly once she noticed his face wasn't as happy as she thought it would be
"I'm stuck here. Unable to move on. This? Being brought back here? It doesn't help. Only reminds me of you. And how much I miss you." Klaus responded shaking his head
"That's not a good thing?" Katherine asked confused
"Not when deep down I know I can never see you again. My love, your dead. A thousand years, yet I'm still here. I can't be strong and help my family if I'm still here." Klaus explained with a sigh
"I- Nik, I'm confused." Katherine mumbled
"I need you to let me go. I can't stay coming back, it isn't helping. It's breaking me, knowing I can only see you in my dreams. I cannot truly hold you, kiss you. Let me go." Klaus informed the brunette softly caressing her cheek
"Nik, I'm not the one holding on." Katherine told the hybrid who raised an eyebrow
"What?" Klaus asked confused not understanding
"Nik, I wouldn't be here unless you wanted me here. You're the one who calls me here every night. You're the one who doesn't want to let go, Nik." Katherine explained to Klaus who seemed taken aback
He was sure, positive he was ready to move on from her. But if he was, why was he still being brought back to her?
"Nik, you're the one who can't move on. We've been through this a thousand times for the past millennium. You just don't want to accept it like you need to." Katherine informed the blonde, playing with his hair the entire time
