malia's pov.

"Hey Shohei."

i already hate this

"How have you been? It's been a while," he says smiling.

I sigh and say, "I've been better."

"Oh. What's wrong?"

"Just the fact that I'm talking to you."

I try to walk away from him after that but he stood in front of me and grabbed my shoulders to stop me. I give him an annoyed look and roll my eyes. I don't think this man understands that I DO NOT want to talk to him.

"Why have you been avoiding me all night?"

"Why did you always make me cry myself to sleep every night?"

He goes silent and sighs. He lets go of my shoulders and leans back on the island, just looking at me. I just turn my body towards him but the glare that I had stays the same. We both stay silent, not saying a word.

"Why'd you come over to me? Why are you talking to me right now," I say.

"I just wanted to talk. The last time I saw you was-"

"Two years ago."

"Has it really been that long?"

"Yeah..."

"I seriously just wanted to talk, to catch up. It's obviously been a while. How have you been? Really."

I just sigh and say, "I've been good. Honestly."

"Yeah... seems like it."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, I just see your post on instagram. Seems fun."

"Yeah. How have you been?"

"It's been okay. Ever since the move, things have been hectic, but everyone on the team is nice so the transition hasn't been too bad."

I just nod my head. I know he's been nice to me so far but I can't help and hold this grudge that I've been holding for the past two years on him. Even with my dryness and my obvious annoyance, he still won't leave me alone.

"So, I heard you're into Yoshi," he said.

I look at him confused and say, "What? What are you talking about?"

"Mary told us. She told us that you were interested in him and thought he was cute."

shit i forgot i told her abt that

"Oh yeah. I forgot about that. It's nothing serious, really. It was just a thought."

"She's tryna set you two up right now."

He pointed back to the group and I saw that Mary was still talking to Yamamoto. They both kept on looking my way once in a while so I knew they were still talking about me. I laughed to myself and playfully roll my eyes.

"I told Yoshi that I would talk to you to see if you were nice or not."

"Oh yeah? How's that going? What are you gonna report back to him?"
