"Tell me how incredible I am." Betty said, her body pressed up against Simon's back."W..Wait, Betty, what are you....-?" Simon questioned Betty's intentions, though he couldn't say he minded their current situation. It had been so long since he felt this with anyone, but still, it felt like they were rushing into it. "Betty..."
Betty's hands found their way to Simon's thighs, one arm wrapping around his waist. "Hmm...? What's up?" She asked, her one hand slowly inching into a more dangerous territory.
"I-I don't think.. that... we should," Simon started, trying hard to keep his focus. She sure knew how to make things hard for him. "Do.. this..."
"Why not...?" Betty said, stopping in her tracks. "I thought.. wha... huh?"
"You thought what exactly?" Simon replied, gently taking her hands off of his body and holding them in his.
"You got me drunk, took me back to your house, slept in the same bed as me... I've been through this before. I know what you want, you don't have to do all this extra stuff. Just let me give it to you!"
"Betty, I'm being completely honest when I say this, I don't just want you for... intimate reasons. Sure, I'd like to get there eventually, but we only just met. There's no need to rush into anything."
Betty stared into Simon's eyes, even after he was done talking. She wasn't sure how to process what he was saying. It sounded nice, but it was... different from what she was used to.
"You really just want to be with me?" She said, her confusion must've been more obvious than she knew based off Simon's expression.
"Yes, I really just want to be with you. Honest."
Simon moved a bit of Betty's hair out of her face so he could get a better look at her. "I really think we have something special, and you're so much more to me than just your body."
"O... Okay..." Betty said, not sounding too sure. "You really are somethin', Simon..."
Simon smiled an finally let go of Betty's hands.
**BETTY POV**
This man is something else, he must be insane. I mean, what kind of guy takes what was probably his celebrity crush or something home and sleeps with her, but doesn't fuck her? This was Betty's thinking.
Sure the things he said sounded nice, but they were the same things everyone had said to her in the past. The same things everyone had lied to her about. She didn't want to go through that again.
She was mad at Simon.
Not even for anything he'd done on purpose, he seemed nice enough. He didn't even poison the food he made her, which seemed like a whole buffet. He really went all out just for her, and she didn't get why...
Maybe his weird sex fantasy was... having her with him and not having sex with her. Yeah, that must be it. It made much more sense to her than what he said to her.
She picked at her breakfast with her fork as the words Simon said replayed in her mind. 'You're so much more to me than just your body' had a much better ring to it than 'you're a vapid celebrity slut' or 'no one would want you if you weren't beautiful.'
Betty blushed a bit at the thought of Simon. He seemed so genuine, he seemed so...
Oh no.
**SIMON POV**
Simon was in his car looking for Betty's glasses as she ate the breakfast he made her. He could only hope she liked it.
"Now where are you, glasses? I know you gotta be in here somewhere..."
His conversation with Betty replayed in his mind as he continued looking. She didn't seem too happy with what he said to her, and he couldn't help but wonder why. He wasn't sorry, though. He meant all of it.
This woman was so different from the Betty he knew so long ago? But he still saw bits of his Betty in this new Betty. Not just because they shared an appearance. It hurt him that she thought he only wanted her for one thing, he wasn't that type of person.
"Ah, there you are." Simon pulled the missing specs out from under the passenger seat of his car. How he hadn't thought to look there first was beyond him, but he was glad he found them.
He made sure to lock his car before heading back inside with the glasses.
**READER POV**
As Simon got back inside the house, Betty ate the last bite of her food. She had eaten all of the food Simon made, not even considering that some of it might be for Simon (which, to be fair, Simon had also not considered.)
"Mmmhhh... I haven't been so full... since... since the last time I was full... mmmhhh....." Betty groaned, feeling super full, because she was super full.
"Well, I'm glad you enjoyed the meal!" Simon said, a genuine smile on his face as he handed the woman her glasses.
"You're a dork." She said, putting the glasses on her face.
Simon hummed in confusion, to which Betty doubled down.
"You're a dork. A weirdo, I don't understand you. Not one bit."
"I'm... sorry?"
"No... NO! You don't get to be sorry. I'm mad at you, but I like you. You're GREAT." Betty said, scowling at a confused Simon.
"I'm... not sure what to say, I think... I feel the same?"
"GOOD! You'd better feel the same. You're genuinely a nice person, AND I'D LIKE TO CONTINUE SEEING YOU!" Betty said angrily while crossing her arms.
"Okay! I agree!" Simon said, putting his hands up in confusion.
"GREAT!"
"Yeah!..."
"HMPH!"
Betty took a deep breath and let out a sigh. "Sorry, sorry. You just got my emotions all confused."
"That's alright, love. I understand." Simon out a hand on her shoulder reassuringly.
Betty looked down at Simon's hand.
And kept looking at it.
And then Simon took his hand off of her. "Sorry, I uh.. should've asked before touching you, right?"
Betty took Simon's hand and put it back on her shoulder. After a few seconds of silence, Simon started laughing, and a few additional seconds after that Betty did as well.
The two spent a good minute laughing before Simon's watch started beeping, interrupting the moment like a very rude object.
"Oh shoot, it's already 9:00, I should get you home before your friend starts to worry. She seemed skeptical of me already, I wouldn't want to add to that." Simon said, taking Betty's hand and leading her to the door.
"Oh, that's just Babette for you. She's a worry wart when it comes to me and the guys I date because all my exes were psychos. Jerky psychos, no less"
"Is that so...?" Simon raised an eyebrow at Betty.
"Yeah, but... you're different, right? You don't seem crazy. At least not how they were. And you're definitely not a jerk."
Just then, as Simon went to open the door, someone knocked from the other side. Who could this possibly be? He wasn't expecting anyone...
