"It's not fair." A voice said. Who is she? She sounds familiar...

"Mmh—" Simon replied. He meant to say actual words, but hadn't realized until now that he was bound to a chair with duct tape covering his mouth.

Come to think of it... where was he? What was going on?

"It's not fair." The voice repeated.

"It's not fair that you just show up out of the blue one day, and... and snatch her from me, from right under my nose! You weren't meant to be hers, I was."

Simon looked around the dark room, unable to make anything out. It was nearly pitch black, and he was sure he wasn't wearing his glasses.

Then a woman emerged from the darkness with a flashlight pointed at her blurred face. She had light skin and purple-ish hair and was slowly approaching Simon.

"You think you can just insert yourself into someone's life, hm? You think you can mess everything up for me, old man?" The woman said as she slowly inched closer. Simon could make out her face now...

It was Babette.

"Mmh! Mmmmm.." the man attempted to speak again.

"Well, it doesn't matter what you have to say, so don't even waste your breath, Simon. You'll be out of the picture soon, and Betty will be all mine."

With a quick motion, Babette raised the flashlight up into the air, ready to strike...

And then he woke up.

"AAHH!" He screamed as he jolted up.

"AAAHH!" Betty screamed back, falling off the couch where they'd both fallen asleep.

"Betty!"

Simon rushed to help her up. "I'm sorry, I had a nightmare, and... are you alright? That was quite the fall..." he kneeled down and took her hand.

"I'm fine, it's fine." She replied, taking his hand and sitting up.

"Wait..." Simon looked around himself. "When did I...?"

"Oh, you showed up here drunk out of your mind yesterday," She started, causing Simon to blush in embarrassment. "You said somethin' about wanting to see me... and that you loved me. Then we kissed and it was awesome!"

"Oh jeez, I'm so sorry about that, I... I can't even remember any of that." Simon scratched the back of his head nervously. He loved her, that was true... but he wasn't ready to tell her just yet. There were too many conflicting feelings stopping him from doing so. And besides, she hasn't known him for long, he didn't want to ruin his chances with her by rushing into things.

"So... what's with the yelling?" Betty spoke, making Simon realize he had zoned out. "Another nightmare?"

"Ah, must've been... I get them often."

"Hmm, what was it about, if you don't mind me asking?"

"Huh... strange, I... I don't remember."

The two finally got up off the floor, and just as they did, Babette came in.

He remembered now.

"Hey Betty! And uh... hey, Petrikov." Babette waved at the two, but mostly at Betty. "I didn't know we were expecting a visitor?"

"We weren't, but..." Betty turned to Simon and smiled warmly. "He's welcome any time."

The two kissed and Babette stuck her tongue out while neither were looking.
