Ch.4

Candace is reading over her case when there is a knock on her door.

"Come in" she says expecting Kevin or Jenny

"Ehem"

Her head shoots up and eyes widened when she sees Jeremy Johnson in her doorway.

"Oh! Mr. Johnson!"

She shoots up from her chair almost knocking over her coffee mug on her paperwork.

"What- um to what do I owe this pleasure?"

Jeremy smirks at her clumsiness but it leaves as soon as it gets replaced by his serious business deminor.

"Well I have a meeting with an important client this afternoon and I need a second attorney present. Do youpresent. Do you would you like to join?"

Candace is taken aback by this request. There are other qualified attorneys to assist him. But she isn't going to let this opportunity pass.

"Of course. I'll see you this afternoon."

He nods stiffly and leaves. She lets out a breath she didn't know she was holding and sat back down with a huff. Why did he make her so nervous? He's just a guy! A really REALLY hot guy. But this is her job and she has to stay focused and professional. She didn't go to law school for 6 years for nothing.  12:00 arrived and Candace leaves her office to go to the meeting room. She doesn't know what to expect since he didn't care to brief her in on the details but perhaps this is some sort of test to see if she is really qualified to be here. After all this would be her first major case with this firm.  She would SHOW him. She enters the room. It has a large oval shaped table with chairs all around it and at the front of the room has a large monitor. The brown table and gray chairs would look dull to most but Candace found it calming. She sits down on one of the chairs near the monitor and fidgets with her pen for a while.

"Good you're here" Mr. Johnson says entering the room with a few folders in his hands followed by an older petite lady with glasses.

"This is Ms. Julian, she's my personal assistant and secretary."

"Oh Hello" Candace says with a small smile.

"Hello Ms. Flynn I've heard great things about you"

Candace raises an eyebrow. "Really?"

"Ehem i think we should focus on the briefing." Jeremy says clearing his throat.

"Oh yes Of course sir" Julian says scrambling to the seat across to the right of Candace.

"So as you both know our firm handles various cases of all calibers including civil, domestic and criminal cases. Our client today is Mr. Scott is a small town dentist who is suing his ex wife Ms. Evans for custody of his 9 year old daughter."

Candace nods, making note in her notebook. A domestics case she loves these types of cases mostly because she is a parent herself and wants to give kids the best homes and environment possible.

"Mr. Scott will be here in about 10 minutes. When he gets here we will listen to his statement and go over options for a solid argument."

Candace is at the grocery store picking out some last minute things for Amanda's birthday party Phineas and ferb insisted they take care of it but Amanda is Candace's daughter and she wants to contribute. She is going to make the cake so she gatherers the ingredients and threw them into her cart. She is about to grab some oil when a little boy runs into her leg. He falls on his butt with a small oof. He can't be more than 5 years old. He has dirty blonde hair and blue eyes little freckles littered his nose.

"Oh my gosh are you okay sweetie?" She asks turning to help the little boy up.

He nods silently staring up at her.
