Ch.9

"Hi mom" Candace says entering the living room of her childhood home.

"Oh hi hun! You're late did you have a lot of work to do?"

Candace blushes. "Um yeah there's a big case coming up and I have a lot of paperwork"

"Oh okay, are you hungry? I made lasagna"

"Sure" she goes into the kitchen and grabs some leftovers. She is super grateful for her parents they never have rejected a chance to watch Amanda for her. With daycare being so expensive she is overjoyed that her parents are retired and just want to spoil their only grandchild.

"Did you hear hun? Isabella is expecting. Phineas called and told us this morning isn't that great?!"

Well former only grandchild. Candace smiled.

"That's great! I'll have to call him soon."

"Another grandchild I'm so excited!"

Candace smiled. It would be nice for Amanda to have a cousin. Though the age gap is a little wide Amanda would enjoy it. She is always asking Candace for a sibling and Canace never knows what to tell her. Sure she wants more kids but her being single and just getting into her career it seemed a bit far fetched. She grabs her food and plopped on the couch next to her dad.

"Hi dad"

"Hey sweet pea my fancy lawyer daughter how are you?"

Well I started my job a few weeks ago, I have a major schoolgirl crush on my boss who by the way I've already slept with and have a date with tommorow.

Candace smiled.

"Living the dream dad. living the dream"

Candace's apartment is small but homey. It has 2 bedrooms with 1 bathroom and a spacious living room and kitchen. When her ex husband and she divorced she was able to use the child support money to save up and get this place when she moved back to Danville. The next morning Candace is woken up by Amanda.

"Mom! Wake up"

Candace is startled awake eyes wide open.

"Wha-what is it honey? Are you okay?"

Amanda giggles and nods.

"There's someone at the door."

Candace frowns in confusion and looks at the clock. It is 9am. She throws on her robe and walks to the front door where a delivery man has a box in his hands.

"Candace Flynn?" He asks and she nods.

"I need you to sign for this." She nods and signs the paper before taking the box from the man.

"thank you"

She closes the door and stares at the box in confusion. She hasn't ordered anything.

"What is it mommy?" Amanda asks also staring at the box.

"Let's find out" She says setting the box down in the floor and opening it. She gasp it is a beautiful dress. It has a deep ocean blue and it has silver embroidery along the bodice. It is beautiful and elegant
