Summary: While on a peaceful mission with Rex, you were betrayed. Your ship destroyed, and on the run, you and Rex set up camp in the northern mountains. The northern mountains are cold and harsh, resulting in you and Rex cuddling for warmth.
The wind was howling outside beating up the fabric of your tent. Neither you nor Rex had any warm clothes since you had to leave them at the Republican Representative Council Building. The only thing you had were a tent and 2 sleeping bags that you were able to pull out of the ship using the force seconds before it exploded. You also had the weapons that were on you at the time: you had your saber and Rex had his pistols. Rex had managed to communicate to the 501st and decide on a pickup spot in the northern mountain because they were not heavily monitored. Unlucky for you the 501st legion was only going to get there in the morning.
You were very cold, the cold hitting you down to the bone. "You should rest Commander, I'll stand first watch." Rex's voice was raspy and tired. "You need rest too, Rex, besides I won't be able to rest in this cold." I could feel my skin burn with the cold. The tips of my fingers already going blue. "The sleeping bags don't do much do they?" Rex asked getting into his sleeping bag.
"Yeah, I swear I can already feel my legs going numb." It was true. You always had trouble with your body keeping itself warm, so you weren't surprised by how cold you felt. "I mean..." Rex looked at you and hesitated before continuing "We could share a sleeping bag for body heat?" In truth, you have liked him for a while and there was no way you were going to miss out on that opportunity.
"That's a good idea." You unzipped your sleeping bag and practically crawled out of it. Rex noticed the way your body was shaking and the way your skin started to tint blue. "Commander, you're." he unzipped his sleeping bag to make sure you could crawl in. His were eyes tinted with worry. You got into the sleeping bag, facing him. His eyes widened as your body made contact with his. "You're freezing." He took your hands into his to warm them up quicker.
"Sorry," you felt bad about causing him this discomfort. "Don't be." You tucked your head into the crook of his neck. Thankful for every place your body was touching his, feeling life come back to your numb limbs. You felt safe lying there in enemy territory, held by Rex.
The winds grew stronger breaking against the fabric of the tent. "Do you think the tent will be able to withstand the winds?" You asked. "Hopefully, or else we'll be a nice icicle for the droids to find." As the wind hit your tent with a loud crack you felt Rex pull you closer to him, one of his arms around your shoulder, the other one around your waist. "At least I'll be frozen with you, and not one of the more annoying commanders." You couldn't help but smile to yourself. Rex and Anakin were good friends, but when it came to making fun of each other, the two were at each other's throats.
"Are you still mad at him for throwing you off the wall on Geonosis?" You laughed. "Maybe." You turned your head to look up at Rex. He was smiling. "You need to learn to forget and forgive," you said in a mocking tone. "At least I'm not the one who managed to crash on 5 different deserted planets within 1 week." I rolled my eyes in a sign of protest 1 week and 1 day I muttered under my breath.
We layed quietly together, the wind had died down and I could hear his heartbeat. My eyes closing themself as I drifted off to sleep.
. . .
I woke up with a strange feeling that someone was watching me. Rex was still asleep his hands around me. I lifted my head to see two clones standing over me and Rex, Echo & Fives.
"You two look comfortable!"
"C'mon the ship is waiting, unless you prefer to cuddle a little longer with our beloved Captain"
